"Vic you sure your okay?" Travis asked as Vic took another long gulp of water.

One week before

"Vic I brought Chinese food, Vic? Vic!" Travis yelled spotting Vic lying motionless on the floor. After finding no pulse he started compressions and was about to call for help when she burst back into life. She slapped the phone out of his hand. "Travis please don't tell anyone what you saw. I was addict in my teen years 10 years on and off the wagon. 4 years till today, I'm okay I swear. Go just don't say anything please."

Present day

"I'm fine Travis just drop it," Travis cut her off with, "I can't just 'drop it'," "I've put it behind me Travis I'm moving on and letting go," Travis was so frustrated he started shouting, "Dam it Hughes I found you dead on your bathroom floor just over a week ago I can't just push passed that!" All eyes were now on her including Chief Ripley, her lover for want of a better term, "Travis that was private, you don't know my reasons and you never will. I've been on and off most of my life, it's harder than you think."

She stormed out closely followed by Sullivan and Ripley, "Hughes my office now!" She was done for it now. "What is it Montgomery talking about?" "Want the blunt truth?" She asked glancing at Lucas, "I OD by accident on pain killers wasn't the first time in my life as I got addicted in my teens. I've been on and off the wagon for about 10 years now, I'm trying I really am 3 years until the other night," Sullivan knew so showed no reaction when Lucas pulled her into a tight hug, "What were the circumstances?" "I was snatched in the night at 13, kept high for two years been an addict ever since, the academy at 20 got me on the wagon, one time relapse trips me up. I am so sorry I didn't say, it should have been on my file, I don't like announcing it," "It's our own fault for not checking. 19 isn't going to judge a troubled past," "Peoples pasts should not define them that what I stand by."

She left to a gawking 19, "What happened isn't up for discussion. My past is not today."
