Barry's POV

Oliver and I finish the surgery with few complications. The chip that we found implanted in Megan's head was twice the size of a fingernail, and the tracker...let's just say it was similar with what the Candor and Divergent had stuck to them in "Insurgent" by Veronica Roth. What? I read.

The moment Oliver extracts the chip from Megan's head, he crushes it in the palm of his hand, letting the fragments fall to the ground.

The tracker was more difficult to take out because the wires were embedded in her skull. We had to carefully unravel the "tentacles" completely to take the entire thing out.

I now sit by the bed, impatiently waiting for Megan to wake up. Oliver and Felicity left about half an hour ago, saying something about an emergency back at Starling.

Megan's index finger twitches slightly, before her hand inches around like she was searching for something. Her chest rises and falls faster as her breathing increases. After a few seconds, she opens her good eye and looks around the room.

"How do you feel?" I quietly ask.

"Like crap," her raspy voice is hard to understand. "My head hurts."

"Are the voices gone?"

"Yeah. I think."

"It's a yes or no question, Megan."

"Are you really going to correct me right now?"

"Sorry," a short silence follows as I look down at my shoes. "I'm just really glad you're alive."

"What do you mean?"

I glance up over at Megan. It's okay to tell her about the previous version of what happened, right? It's not like it's going to change anything. Maybe I should tell her when she heals. "Nothing."

Megan eyes me suspiciously. "Okay," she scans the room for a minute. "Where's my phone?"

"Geez, you don't wanna talk to me anymore? I'm hurt," I chuckle. She always has to have her phone with her.

"It's not that. I just want music," she whines. "Can I please have my phone?"

I sigh and take her phone out of my pocket. I may or may not have listened to a few of Black Veil Brides' songs while she was asleep.

Megan reaches out to grab her phone, but I keep it in my hands and scroll through the playlist that's labeled "Black Veil Brides." Then I choose Perfect Weapon.

Which, I forgot the lead singer screams for the first ten seconds of the song. Seriously, you'd think there was some sort of signal you'd get before all you hear is screaming.

"Holy sh-" Megan jumps when the song plays. "Are you trying to scare the crap out of me?!"

"I thought you liked this song."

"I do, but I'm not used to the beginning of it!"

"You've listened to this song a thousand times and you're still not used to it?" I mean come on, you'd think she'd be used to it by now. "That makes a ton of sense, Megan," I sarcastically tease her.

"Whatever," she rolls her eyes.

"Do you remember any useful information about E.D?" I change the subject and slightly turn the volume down on her phone.

Megan's brows knit together to the center of her forehead as she thinks back. "Something about...a big event coming up that they're going to crash."

"How many of them?"

"I think Joseph said most of the organization."

"Do you know how soon? Where's the event?" I continue to question her.
