The next morning brought with it more sensations of anxiety than Takeru would have wanted. School was starting again in the next three days, and that meant they were running out of time to do what they were aiming to when it came to defeating Devimon and searching for the Emissaries of Chaos. The original Chosen Children had gone investigating in the Digital World in the area Koushiro had mentioned, and Takeru caught himself up on everything his companions had learned on the matter. It sounded like the original Chosen Children had a few theories on what was happening, but they hadn't shared any of them yet. Takeru understood why they wanted to keep it quiet for the time being; if they had theories that lacked any basis, it would be best to hold off on sharing them until they were able to find some proof. Takeru could only hope they would be able to find evidence eventually, but until then, all they could do was wait.

Takeru had decided to make his stress into something useful by pulling his things together for the next session of classes in a few days. He didn't think there was anything he was missing at a first glance, but he wanted to make sure he was ready as soon as possible. All of summer break up to that point had been a disaster between the attacks from the Dark Ocean, Piemon's return from Inferno, and Devimon's revival, and Takeru wasn't going to count on times returning to peace immediately after Devimon was defeated. He could already tell that was a bad idea waiting to happen, so he decided to take care of as much as possible before anything else could slip out of control. They would hopefully be able to defeat Devimon before classes started up again, but Takeru didn't want to take any chances.

"That should be everything," Takeru murmured as he continued to look through the items in his backpack once again. Nearly everything had been gathered together in one spot the way it should have been when the last session of classes ended, and it hadn't taken him long to get everything else that he had used from his summer homework together. In other words, he should have been finished.

And it seemed Patamon agreed as well. He was watching Takeru with muted exasperation. "You've checked it four times now. I think you're alright," Patamon assured him. He was sitting on top of Takeru's dresser to get a higher vantage point of the room, a silent way of making sure his partner hadn't forgotten anything in his quick attempt at pulling his school items back together.

"I guess so," Takeru murmured. He sat down on his bed as soon as he was able to zip up the bag, and a sigh pushed its way free of his lips. "I hope we're able to defeat Devimon before classes start up again. We're not going to have as much time as we do now once homework and school become a factor again."

"I'm sure we're going to be fine," Patamon told him with a small shake of his head. "I have faith that you'll be able to take care of everything. On top of that, the original Chosen Children confirmed that Koushiro was able to find a lead about the Emissaries of Chaos. That means great things for us. We're getting closer to finally having everything figured out. It's just a matter of time before they're able to find out what's going on."

Takeru nodded at that, and he hoped his partner was right. He was just as desperate to learn what was going on as everyone else, and it seemed like the lack of a distraction that was resting so close on the horizon was only making his nervousness on the matter worse. "I wonder what's going on with that bunker," he whispered. "Then again, I guess storming that place is going to be our next step after we defeat Devimon. The Emissaries of Chaos have to want something with that place, and that means we have to get in there if we want to figure out what they're trying to do."

"At least we'll be able to count on the original Chosen Children and their partners for that. I don't think the Emissaries of Chaos will be able to fight back against so many powerful Digimon... Especially if the final battle against Devimon ends as well as we're hoping it will," Patamon pointed out as he descended from his place atop the dresser to sit on Takeru's lap. "I'm sure we're going to be fine. The search for information will wrap up easily if all goes well, and from there, we'll just have to stop the Emissaries of Chaos. They're going to be in chaos after we attack the bunker, so that should be pretty easy."
