The night passed restlessly for all of the Chosen Children. Because they were all so exhausted from their fight against DoneDevimon followed so quickly by returning to Earth to fend off the Emissaries of Chaos, it was decided that they were going to take the rest of the night to recover in any way they could to prepare for the upcoming encounter to defeat Ordinemon. After all, it was impossible for them to say what they were going to be met with when they set out to fight Entropy's greatest weapon. All they could do for the time being was hope that they were able to come out on top when they were given the chance to fight off their foe, and the best way they could start their search for something like that was to get some rest.

In the end, the group wound up settling down in a hotel that Daigo and Maki were able to have reserved for the night. Since the city was mostly abandoned, there weren't any people around to take care of the group as they rested that night. It was better than them all splitting up and going home to empty apartments, especially given how important it was for them to stay together as they pursued the matter at hand. Taichi was glad they were able to remain as a group as they got ready for what was going to come next; he didn't think he would have been able to focus on sleeping if they had split up.

Still, that didn't mean any of them at all rested easily. In fact, it was the exact opposite; it seemed like at least one of them was tossing and turning at some point in the night. They had split up in groups of two in different rooms, one on each bed with their Digimon partner. Meiko was left to split a room with Chisane and Kaya who were curled against one another firmly as a way of fending off the stress of the day, but aside from that, two per room was the norm. Gennai retreated to the Digital World to talk to the other Agents of Order about everything that was going on, and that meant the Chosen Children were left to look after the situation at hand without any other issues.

Even so, it was hardly unusual for the hallway to be disturbed by footsteps as the Chosen Children got up to shuffle around and try to calm down in preparation for what was going to come next. They had been wrapped up in some issue or another constantly for the last few months, and the reveal of Ordinemon's existence only added another layer of stress to all of their shoulders. They were trying to sleep to the best of their abilities, but there was only so much they were going to be able to do without their bodies protesting everything. They were too stressed to deal with much more than they already had, but at least they were trying to get through it. That had to count for something, right?

Taichi woke up the next morning when sunshine streamed in through the window. Agumon rolled over in response, not wanting to get up quite yet. He and the other Digimon had all been able to evolve back to their regular forms the night before when the group indulged in dinner. At the very least, they had what they could in the hotel's kitchen given how little there was that was actually cooked thanks to the invasion and subsequent evacuation. At the very least, the group was able to do something to get the energy they needed, and that had to count as a victory for the time being.

They wound up in the hotel's lobby again the next morning to talk about what they wanted in terms of food from what little the hotel was able to provide to them. After they ate, they were headed off to the Digital World to do what they could to defeat Ordinemon, and there wasn't going to be much time for them to rest once they launched themselves into the next step of their plan. It wasn't ideal, but what other choice did they have?

As far as Taichi could tell, they were bound to run into some kind of resistance when they went to fight off Ordinemon and take her out of the equation once and for all. He found it hard to believe that even the attack on Earth was going to completely displace the Agents of Order from their mission. There had to be at least a few of them back at the bunker waiting for something to happen that would disturb the plans they had set up. It wasn't ideal, but it wasn't as if Taichi would be able to push back against that on his own. He and the others were going to press on regardless of the unfortunate obstacles that appeared in their paths, and that was the best they could do.
