"Rika! You can't say that!" Rika flapped her hand up and down to her brother's panic "That's not what I'm suggesting" she placed down her teacup. "What I'm suggesting is that Hayami resigns her place as princess"
"But that would mean, she'd have to fake her death, and flee from the country" She nodded her eyes scheming. "Flee the country with her favourite knight to protect her" Aki widened his eyes moving his gaze away, considering it in his head. "Who will look after this country?"
"The king's still alive and kicking" Rika replied, "If she leaves the palace, she leaves her princess duties, and won't have to trick herself into falling in love with the king" Aki stood up placing his cup down "You just have to convince her to leave the castle, and then I can be-" She paused "I can be happy for you two"
"I'm going for a walk" He muttered quickly walking out the door, a man stopped in his path his gaze on the light that cut through the dark night hair. "Brother!" The girl quickly grabbed the knight's arm "Your close to her, you can convince her to leave the palace forever" The man stood in the shadows his hands in his pockets. "I-I can't do that" Aki quickly replied pushing away from his sister "That's your best friend, I'm your brother, you- your happy just to watch us run away and never return"
"If it means that she's not convincing herself to fall for someone else!" They argued, and Aki began to walk away leaving the girl to angrily throw her teacup to the floor. It smashing at her feet. "Fine, I'll do it by myself" She grumbled, stepping angrily stomping the castle. The boy stepped out from the shadows; his two-toned hair shone in the light. His gaze looking down at the broken mug and he smiled "I see, she's a tyrant"
"Princess?" A knocking at a door is all that could be heard, a small grumble fell from the mouth of the two women sleeping in the bed. "Hello?" A voice called out groggily "It's King Dabi?" Hayami sat up
"D-dabi?" she stuttered "What brings you here?" Hayami was shaking the girl in bed next to her "To talk, about yesterday" he paused "Can I open the door" Rika only just began to wake up. "Uhm"
"I'll close my eyes, it's rather strange talking to a door" there was a pause "I won't look at your face"
"I'll put my veil on" the door opened, King Dabi's eyes moved down to the maid sleeping in the bed, the pillow tower and then to Hayami. "You caught me off guard" he moved closer and sat down on the sofa in the room, his gaze landed on the maid's face "Its fine, I knew you were close with your maids" Hayami continued shaking the maid. She swatted her hand away "Since we were little" Hayami chirped, the maid slowly opened her eyes. Her gaze landed on the man sitting on the sofa, then up to the princess. "Oh gosh" she muttered, she sat up "Uhm, your highness" he held his hand up
"It's fine, the head servant explained it all to me" Tira looked down at the ground and nodded "That is true, and played with us when we were little" suddenly Hayami flinched "We've met before?" Rika and Dabi nodded their heads. Hayami looked between the pair "You told him he was handsome because of his scar" Her hands quickly clutched Tira's mouth, stopping her from finishing. She huffed under her hand and the king chuckled "T-that's not why the king was here" Hayami quickly switched the subject "What did you want to talk about"
"You asked to come to my kingdom, I wanted to plan when" His gaze moved to the girl lying next to her "I just didn't expect you to still be asleep" Hayami's gaze moved down to look at her hands. "She was up late crying-" A hand clapped over Tira's mouth again, as she shot a glare that could kill "I'm going to bury you!" Hayami threatened then moved her gaze to the King. He had a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips, "R-right planning when we should meet" she quickly stood up. Tira leaned forward straightening her hair, before she slid her feet off the bed "Right then, I've got some duties to do" She stood up and shot Dabi a glare "Don't do anything I wouldn't do" she hummed and skipped out the room.
"I'm sorry about her" Hayami muttered, as she opened her wardrobe and pulled out a dress. Dabi leaned to the side "Are all your dresses white?" Hayami held her dress to her and moved her gaze to the closet, she pulled out one "Not entirely, this one has gold accents" she pulled out another "This has some pink flowers on it"
"You are very beautiful in white" Hayami stopped looking through her wardrobe. Her cheeks flushed. He stood up and moved to her side, looking in the wardrobe. Hayami clutched the dress she was holding, feeling his heat behind her. After she became aware of her feelings, she noticed everything he did. "Do you always wear black?" Dabi looked towards her face, then down at his clothes, all in silence. "We normally wear black in our kingdom, we're a working kingdom mainly mining coal, which is black and stains" Hayami looked down at his chest, her gaze then moving to his gaze. Her eyes widened slightly, as their eyes met "You don't look scared of me anymore" his face moved closer observing hers, as a single hand grabbed her chin. "I- Uh, I should pack darker clothes for when I visit then" she quickly distracted herself. She was sure her cheeks were bright red by now and turned her gaze away. "Do you own any black dresses?" Hayami shook her head and Dabi walked away, not saying anything else. "I'll change then we can ask, mother- I mean my supervisor to see when I can visit you" Dabi didn't answer her, however she could hear the faint noise of someone sitting down.
Turning her gaze Dabi was sat at the chair, his elbow resting on the back of it and his hand holding up his face. "King Dabi?" He moved his gaze up to look at her, and she held up her dress "I need to change before we go"
"I heard you" Hayami continued to stare at him, silently "We're to marry aren't we" he replied reading the confusion in her eyes "Changing in front of your husband is something that would happen, correct?" Hayami looked down at the ground and nodded "After yesterday I've been researching on what married couples do, I want to be a good husband for you" Hayami's eyes widened as she stared up at Dabi, his gaze was firm as he stared up at her. Hayami let out a small sigh and then turned as she pulled off her nightgown. Dabi's eyes were on her pale skin, following the curves of her body. Emotion unusually flashed in his eyes for a split second.
Hayami was finally dressed and sat at her desk, Rize stood to the side of her holding her hands in front of her. Dabi sat opposite her desk, with Shoto stood beside him, his hands held behind his back. "So, you'll visit in 3 days" Dabi muttered, looking down at the paper, Hayami nodded. He smiled and then stood up "I'll wait for you" Hayami's shoulders flinched as she moved her gaze up to Dabi. Shoto noticed her blushed gaze and moved his gaze to his brother sat beside him. Dabi stood up, and looked towards Shoto, "Shall we prepare for our departure" Shoto nodded and then moved his gaze to Rize.
"I would like a word with you however Rize" She down up at him, blinking a few times, and looking down at the princess. "What did she do"
"Mother-!" Hayami whimpered, earning a flick to the side of her head, Shoto looked down at Hayami and then back to Rize "It's not her that has done something" Dabi's eyes narrowed as he stared towards the man next to him. The princess was giving him a more confused gaze, and then she met Dabi's gaze "I'll take the princess then" He muttered. Hayami flinched and stood up slowly "Yes! We can sit in the garden till their finished" she moved round the desk. The two leaving.
