Rain was pouring outside, Hayami and Enji were walking side by side in it. Walking deeper and deeper into the forests "You're not right to run my country alongside my son" he explained "That's why I plan on killing you"
"Why am I not right to run your country" The man looked towards the woman, his gaze on the splotches on her face. "Could you answer me this Enji" she muttered "Are you still the king?" He stopped and the woman slowly stopped noticing he had. "What does that have to do with it"
"Well, I just heard the old king had to resign due to being unfit to rule" Her gaze harshened as she looked at him "So you have no right to tell me who is fit to run Touya's country" the man clapped at the woman.
"Your shoulders are trembling" He noted, the woman smiled and nodded her head, mustering up all courage she could. Dabi was coming for her, she knew it, she just had to stall time. "I've just seen a dead body, it's not something a woman should gaze upon" The man nodded his head as he pulled out a dagger, she swallowed as it glistened in what little light the leaves let into the forest. "Maybe I should put you out of your misery of being so scared"
"Enji, you are no longer royal" The woman quickly cut in, her gaze landing on the blade. Clutching her hands, she tried to calm her trembling "Therefore what your suggesting is treason, and is punishable by death"
"And your father would kill me for getting rid of his mistake?" Hayami's eyes widened at his words, and she moved her gaze away from his "Look at that confidence fade, even he knows you're a mistake" she blinked repeatedly trying to stop the tears from sprouting out her eyes. Suddenly Enji raised his arms, the blade held between his hands. This is it.
Quickly Hayami pushed at the man, he stumbled back, the dagger falling from his hands. Her eyes widened "You make mistakes too, how many children do you really have" Suddenly the man jumped at her, her body fell to the ground and she yelped. His fist met her face, before strongly wrapping around her neck "I was tempted by a devil" She was gasping for air, her arms prying at his. Her leg flailing from under his "Dabi!" She coughed out and looked up at the path she'd been led down.
Dabi finally set his gaze upon the abandoned carriage, then moving down to the dead body lying on the ground. He looked in the carriage and then all around his gaze landed on his dear brother "Shoto!" He called stepping towards him "I thought I put you with her to protect her!" He grumbled grabbing at his collar
"It's not my fault I tried to fight, but she stepped out of the carriage, and wouldn't leave unless he let me go!" He fought back. Dabi dropped him back down to the ground, his hands running through his hair. His gaze running around the ground he stopped seeing white teared fabric lying on the ground, creating a trail. "Clever" He muttered stepping towards it, "Hayami!" He called out.
However, she was very wrapped up, and unable to call back, blood fell down her occupied lips. Her gaze was still on the path, what if her dress tears weren't noticed by him, her eyes began to slowly close. But they shot open at the sight of something glistening on the ground. She reached her arm out, gasping in pain as she found her body growing weak. Her arms weren't long enough. Her body grew limp. She stopped fighting back. Enji laughed sitting up slightly
"Hayami!" A voice called, his gaze flinched as he moved to look where he heard the voice. But suddenly, the girl's body moved reaching it grabbed the dagger. She sat up screaming as she dug it into his forehead and scraped it down, the man cried in pain and fell back. The woman coughed and began to crawl away, the dagger still in her hand, suddenly he clawed at her arm drawing blood. She turned stabbing the dagger into it, the blade exiting the other side. She widened her eyes at the sight, dragging herself away. The rain poured heavier, as she tried pulling herself up.
Dabi had heard her cries and found himself running, slipping multiple times due to the wet ground. His panicked gaze finally settled on an unlikely sight, Hayami was pulling herself up using a tree, blood tricking from her nose and cuts on her arm. Her white dress stained; her hair matted with mud. Her mouth was open, and her broken breathing was all that echoed through Dabi's head "Hayami!" he called, and she looked up her eyes wide, a sad smile plastered across her face. Quickly she pushed off the tree and began to run towards him "You came! I called you and you came!" she cried, Dabi nodded as he began to run to her too.
However, his face turned pale as her hair, he began to run faster, slipping in the mud, the world seemed to go slow. Her smile was still wide as she ran for him, but it soon vanished as a hand wrapped around her chest. Pulling her into the man's chest behind her, she squirmed the dagger she had drove into his hand was pulled out dripping with his blood. Dabi's feet couldn't seem to move fast enough, the dagger was moving to her chest. Hayami held his arm there, trembling tears now falling from her eyes. Enji was strong, but even he widened his eyes at how hard she was holding back, his arm quickly moved up round her neck tightening. She gasped for air, and her hand fell from holding his to her throat.
Thunder boomed, Hayami's body fell to the ground "Your highness!" A voice shouted as an arrow quickly shot through the air, shooting Enji. He fell back rolling down the hill. Hayami could do nothing but lay their crying out. Finally, Dabi was by her side, but it didn't feel like finally, it was too late. The dagger still pierced her body, stabbing into her heart. He held her head up, holding her to him "You turned around" She smiled, as her hands weakly moved to cup his cheeks.
"I said I'd turn around for you" His voice trembled, as his face finally showed emotion. The rain began to cease, and her gaze moved up to the sky "Touya, are we dating, not just as king and queen, as me and you" He nodded his head, moving her gaze back to his "That kiss meant the world to me" finally tears fell from his eyes, and she smiled wiping them from his cheeks "That's all I ever wanted" he nodded
"Now I want you to keep your eyes open" She furrowed her brows, as tears fell from her eyes, blood soon trickled from her mouth "It hurts" She cried, and he nodded his head "I know it does"
"Dabi, kiss me, it hurts" She cried repeating, and he moved his lips to kiss hers, this kiss he'd hope last forever. However, when he pulled away he didn't get the chance of staring into her beautiful red eyes filled with love, instead they were closed. Her lips slightly parted and her head slowly fell back. He stared at her, crying out her name. He stopped and stared at her face, his emotions changed, he was enraged. Like a fire had lit inside of him.
He stepped from the forest "Dabi!" A voice called happy to see him, but his happiness died out as he stared at the sight before him. He was carrying her like she was a delicate flower, however the flower had wilted at his touch. Behind him flames burned in the forest, his gaze was cold "Touya" Natsuo muttered watching the shell of a man step closer and closer. "Touya, where's dad!" Shoto called out grabbing his arm, "How dare you still call him dad" his harsh gaze looked into his eyes. Answering the question, Shoto looked towards the blue flames that encased the forest. Flames no one had ever seen before.
