The kingdom of Saku mourned the loss of Hayami, for months, they didn't stop the mourning or care at the news of the king's death. Crops struggled to grow stripped of rain to help water them, the country blamed the death of their maiden. The once bustling streets were now quiet almost abandoned, there was no way to get their willow maiden now a Tyrant took charge of the castle. Rumours spread the kingdom of how the king plotted against them, and the new princess once a loyal servant and best friend betraying her just for her power.
Rika was adorned in white garments as she listened to the servant inform her "Your highness, the crops are all failing" Tira muttered bowing to the woman stood in the room, that just felt cold an empty despite having a new princess to occupy it. Rika stared out the window a blue fire had grown again, almost touching the willow tree's leaves. Her green gaze turned to look towards the maid in front of her "What am I meant to do? I'm not the idiots planting the crops" Tira's brows twisted "Fire those incompetent slaves who can't grow a simple carrot!"
"You were a slave once" Tira grumbled, her fierce gaze looking up at her once friend "Do you forget that?" she argued, Rika was silent as she glared at her servant. "You are why our crops are dying, you are not fit to run this kingdom, Hayami was" she huffed out a long sigh "This is my last day, I can't stand to serve someone as selfish, and brooding like you" quickly she left the room, Aki stood a little outside of the door his gaze on Tira's and Tira's on his, tears sprung from Tira's eyes. Rika had finally shown her true colours, after all the years she spent pretending to be Hayami's friend she secretly envied the girl. Enough to help plot her death and take the crown for herself. "Goodbye Tira" He muttered, she continued sobbing and turned away from him "Don't sit their and be sorrowful, you could've done something, you could've saved the girl you loved" She cried walking away.
Rize stepped out Hayami's old study, enjoying the time in their as she could reminisce on the times she had alone with the girl. Her smile was never quite the same after that fateful day, the only time it looked happy was when she heard the news the king had passed. Her gaze landed on Tira who was crying, biting her lip to hide her sobs. Stepping towards the girl she wrapped her arms around her, and she cried into her chest, shushing the poor girl she stroked her hair. "Why would she do something like this" Tira cried, tightly holding the woman who was the closest thing to her mother "Some people are filled with jealousy, and it gets the better of them"
"You need to leave this place, it's not the same" Rize looked down into Tira's brown eyes, kissing her tear-stained cheeks. "I can't leave" She muttered "If I leave then I'll be leaving Hayami's memory behind" Tira just cried heavier, and Rize hugged her back watching as servants frowned walking past them. Carrying paintings of Hayami, that Rika had ordered to be destroyed.
Aki couldn't deal with the coldness inside of the palace, so he stepped out into the garden where his gaze moved to the bench, that's where Hayami would sit on her breaks, and she'd usually wait for him to be done with practice to tell funny stories too or learn new ways of self-defence. If only what she learnt would work. Aki was a dumb fool who fell for the princess, his sister was manipulative, the man was slowly breaking. He sat down on the bench; the seat felt colder than usual his gaze moving up to the sky. It hadn't rained since that day; the crops were dying in need of water but the rain just wouldn't fall. People's selfish greed took the rain. His gaze moved up to the windows of the palace, he planned to leave, even after telling his sister that he doesn't have the courage to do so.
Fuyumi slowly opened the door to a room, the gap in the room messily bricked up, her gaze moved around the walls and she stopped staring at a dress. The dress she wore to the ball, her hand grazed down the soft dress, and she smiled "You never really knew how pretty you really were" she whispered to herself, hoping that her words would be carried up into the wind. Natsuo, opened the door and watched his sister in pain, he sighed stepping into the room and hugged her. "It's our fault" She cried and Natsuo shook his head pulling her head into his chest "It's mine, I should've let Dabi kill that man" he muttered "If he was dead, he'd have no power over us" Hayami sobbed louder, and Natsuo flinched at the suddenly feeling of a hot tear pooling down his cheek.
Even if she was in the palace for a short while, the kingdom all was in mourning for the death months later. Many saying she was one of the most beautiful princesses to grace the land. A memorial was built for her under the willow tree's leaves, since the princess of Saku refused to build one for her. It was a regular spot for town folk to visit now, the miners had carved stairs into the dirt to encourage more to pay respects. The memorial was never empty of gifts.
Shoto watched from the window as the trees of the willow tree swayed in the wind, searching for their maiden. His gaze then slowly fell to the man sitting at his desk, he was leaning back, refusing to even look at the documents that lay in front of him. Then his gaze moved up to the painting behind him, and artist noble who had attended the ball painted it for Hayami, wanting to gift her it when he saw her next. Of course, that day never came. So, it found a great use, for making Dabi miss her day by day. Suddenly the man rose from his seat.
Stepping out of the room, and the palace, he continued to walk. Leading himself to the gate, through the town and to a tavern where an information dealer sat waiting. A smirk appearing on his face that held such violence that it would make anyone cower in fear. "Shigiraki" Dabi spoke sitting down in front of the man in the bar, the man smiled with his cracking lips "I got the information, I know everyone who was there, that you didn't already kill, and where they live" He looked down at the documents. "Burn their houses and make sure they're trapped inside" he muttered
"Some have families, wives and children, hardly an act of kindness from his Majesty" Shigiraki muttered, scratching at his sore neck. Dabi's gaze didn't change "Burn them all" He replied, the man smiled nodding his head. Standing up and walking away, Dabi took a drink of the bitter drink that was laid out for him. Before he stepped out into town. Screaming could be heard as a house went up in flames, a smile fell on the man's lips as he listened to them scream. His arms outstretched at his sides he laughed, the flames behind him growing showing only a silhouette of the man that once used to feel. "I'll watch this kingdom burn avenge you"
You seem to have forgotten, Dabi is a villain, this wasn't a love story this was just beginning of a villain.
