With that the date pursued, Dabi and Hayami walked side by side as the guards followed far away keeping a close eye. The town was quiet, and they didn't have stalls selling items they had general shops. Hayami stopped her gaze far from town, men covered in black soot appeared from the ground. She watched almost in awe, "Can we see over their?" Dabi moved his gaze, his eyebrows lowering slightly. "Sure, but I don't want to get too close" Hayami quickly skipped towards the mine, a bright smile on her face. As she did the miners all looked towards her, bowing at the sight of their king "He brings a maiden today" one-man chirps staring at the woman quickly moving closer. Hayami stopped at the sudden unsure gazes, they stared at her in confusion, she moved her gaze away her fluffy hair falling to cover her face. "Hayami?" Dabi muttered noticing how she had stopped her happy skipping, Dabi moved his gaze up to the dirty miners, one open his mouth struggling to find the words. "Excuse us fair lady" He choked out "But I'm not sure how close you should come to us in that beautiful dress" Hayami's eyes widened as she looked down. The ends of her dress were scuffed with soot, she picked it up and swirled the skirt gently. "You said you were going to bring dresses with colour"

"This one does" Dabi examined the dress, she turned showing the tiny pink bow on the back. He sighed and patted the girl's fluffy hair, "She doesn't mind about the dirt, mines aren't a thing in her kingdom" Dabi stepped forward. The miners all stared at her in awe. "You're a Queen?" She shook her head

"Princess"

"The princesses in your kingdom must be the most beautiful women in the world" One miner chipped in, Dabi's jaw clenched slightly. Unrecognised to Hayami taking in all the wonderful compliments being blasted her way. "Obviously you're not allowed in the mine, but we'd love for you to stay, and tell us of your kingdom" Hayami gazed up at Dabi. Slowly he moved his gaze down. That look was irresistible. He sighed and nodded.

The day had moved on, she had told the miners of the maiden and the willow tree, and how her kingdom is built on that belief. Only for the miners to tell her to visit the willow tree located in their country. This led to another irresistible look, and the pair scaling a hill. Hayami's footing faltered and she found herself falling, Dabi stepped towards her picking her up softly "Your footwear isn't really hill climbing appropriate" He muttered looking down at her now black and muddy shoes. She chuckled lifting her dress, suddenly she was swept up. Dabi held her bridal style continuing to walk "Aren't I heavy? P-put me down"

"You're not heavy" Dabi answered, his gaze on the hill and his footing. Hayami muttered a quiet "Oh" and then slowly slid her arms around his neck for more support. He hummed quietly happy to see she was relaxing. Finally, they reached the top of the hill, setting her down she stared up at the willow tree. Dabi stood and watched as she stepped into its leaves, which welcomed her with warm arms. Flowers surrounded the roots, and the grass was longer hidden behind the leaves. Like it was its own world. "Hayami?" she turned to the sound of her voice, her eyes widening. The wind picked up, and the leaves parted revealling Dabi standing outside, his head tilted looking at her curiously. Her cheeks reddened as she watched him step inside, the wind stopped closing them in inside. They stood staring at each other for a while, Hayami shook her head "It's like a new world inside of here" She topic changed, and Dabi followed her gaze. "And look at this" He grabbed her shoulder leading her to some leaves, he pulled them up. In the distance a willow tree seemed to wave it's leaves at the couple. "That's my willow tree" She muttered "The souls split" Dabi looked down at her. Moving her face to look up into his eyes, those beautiful ocean blue eyes. "You can try it"

"Try it?"

"Kiss me, like in that fable" Hayami's cheeks flushed, her eyes searched his, but he stared with certainty. Flicking down to his lips and then back up to his face. "But it's just a fairy-tale" Dabi's eyes wandered around the tree before falling back to her, she was still staring unsurely at his lips. "You made a declaration of war and won't kiss me?" Hayami's eyes widened, she looked down. Dabi's hand fell from her cheeks, slowly he turned his head. Suddenly hands landed on his shoulders, he turned, and she lifted herself pecking his lips. He stared down at her, while her wide curious eyes blinking repeatedly up at him, the wind swept the willow tree leaves. As if it were applauding the kiss they shared. "Shall we return to the palace?" he muttered moving closer to kiss the top of her head, she nodded shakingly, her gaze landing on her dress "It's filthy" She muttered. Dabi swept her up in a bridal carry once again, "Then I won't let you go" her cheeks flushed. Burying her gaze in his chest, he looked down at her a smile tugging on his lips before he focused on moving down the hill.

Finally, but too soon, they arrived back at the palace. Hayami settled into a hot bath, sighing at the silence she'd craved for. The maids cared for her a lot, sometimes too much, so it was nice to get a break from them. Her eyes were closed as she leaned her head back, a quiet noise caused her to open her eyes. She turned in her bath inspecting the door, seeing a figure "Fuyumi, I said alone time"

"It's not Fuyumi" A male voice quickly replied, her hands quickly flung to cover whatever decency she could "Dabi! What are you doing here?" she had her back turned to the man slowly sinking deeper into the bath. He stepped through staring at her, water droplets slowly rolled down her shoulders. "Fuyumi insisted I went for a bath, seeing as I was conversing with the miners" He answered, she turned moving her ruby gaze to look up at him. "I can see that this was just a set up by her" he moved to walk out the room, "Wait!" Hayami called. He halted in his spot leaning to look towards her "I'll leave, I'm washed" she sat up, her hip dips raised from the water, something Dabi's eyes seemed locked on. "Close your eyes" He straightened his back, closing them. "You're a strange woman" he muttered "You declare that you'll make me love you, kiss me, I get invited to bathe with you, you tell me to stay, and now you're in front of me naked" Hayami flinched. She looked up at his face, she was just grabbing her robe, dead ahead of Dabi. They remained closed "What's a man to think" Hayami's cheeks flushed. As she slid on the robe

"I-I'm your fiancé, this is normal fiancé things" Dabi sucked in a laugh, sighing loudly "You're my fiancé which means we don't hide anything" He teased. Hayami tied the robe "You can open your eyes" he opened them slowly. Finding himself in more trouble than with her irresistible look, her hair was smaller and drops fell onto her porcelain skin. A drop fell to roll down the side of her nose, stopping on her lips. His gaze was stuck there for-a while. She blushed even hard noticing her his gaze was "Well you should go bathe yourself"

"Well now I'm going to feel lonely" he teased, sticking out his bottom lip "Bathe with your advisor" His hands gripped around her waist.

"But I'm your fiancé, it's a normal fiancé thing to bathe with your partner" he whispered into her ear. She pulled away her cheeks flushed "I- I can't, it's too hot I'm getting dizzy" She fanned her cheeks trying to hide her blush "I'm going to go to bed" Dabi smirked at her, and she sighed.

"That kiss meant something to me ok, not just fiancé things" She muttered and then stepped out of the room, Dabi's hands moved to his lips "Me too" He whispered, before stripping his clothes and sitting in the bath.
