"So, do we just sit here the whole time" Hayami whispered, Dabi moved his gaze to her "If you want" her eyes moved out to the dance floor, filling with stars. The man next to her rose, and stretch out his hand, the room filled with silence even the band stopping. Hayami stared at the man her gaze wide, and she slowly stretch out her hand placing it in his. He then led her to the dance floor, everyone moved for them, the music began. They began to dance and the couples around them joined in, laughter could be heard all around the ballroom. Hayami's smile was bright and contagious as one grew on the king's face. "I've never been to a ball before" She whispered, Dabi's eyes widened.

"You haven't? I heard your kingdom held lots of celebrations" Hayami smiled sadly, and shrugged her shoulders, her gaze on their feet as they waltzed. "My dad was ashamed to let me come" Dabi paused dancing to stare at the woman in front of him, her gaze wandered up to his face "It's fine, I made up for it all in my town duties" Her awkward rambling was cut off as he lifted her veil. The room stopped watching the pair, the music however continued. "Theirs's nothing to be ashamed of" Hayami's cheeks blushed, and her gaze moved around the ball an all the patrons watching them. Her eyes then fell to the floor, suddenly two hands cupped her cheeks, and she was brought into a short tender kiss. When they pulled away the crowd began to cheer, Shoto stood next to the thrones his eyes wide. Fuyumi was clapping with the crowd quietly. Women from the crowd then began to step towards the princess, complimenting her hair, her figure, her looks. Hayami couldn't help but smile brightly up at them, Dabi watched from behind the crowd of women smiling, before his gaze turned sour. The sight of a man scowling at Hayami, caught his attention the man then turned to leave. Dabi looked towards Shoto ushering for him to follow.

The attention Hayami had received was exhausting, and overwhelming. It was wonderful that they would complement her so highly, but she still found the need to walk onto the balcony. Resting her arms on the cold stone she breathed out a long-huffed sigh. "She's a damnation to this country!" A loud shouting of protest caused Hayami's gaze to move from the twinkling stars. Guards were detaining a man dressed quite formally, Hayami recognised him to be attending the ball. "She will bring our nation to rubble! She is worthless, and ugly" Hayami's eyebrows furrowed "You watch it, she'll be disposed, that worthless princess" Hayami's body began to tremble. "Disposed" She whispered stepping away from the balcony slowly, suddenly her footing tangled, and she fell back.

But the floor didn't hit her back, a warm body with strong arms held her up "If you're tired we can go to your room" her gaze shot towards Dabi, and she turned quickly and tightly clutching at him. He stared at her, his gaze moved to the man being detained and then down to her trembling shoulders. "I won't let anything happen to you" He whispered, his hands combing through her fluffy hair, she turned her gaze to look up at him. "Maybe your declaration of war is rubbing off on me" suddenly he lifted Hayami setting her down on the cold stone of the railing. "No harm will ever come to you, so long as I'm your lover, that's a declaration of war" her eyes widened as she stared up at him. They lined with tears and as hard as she tried to blink them back, they still spilled he brought her into her arms. That's when rain began to gently pat on the ground.

Hayami was walking through the grounds of the kingdom, the day was bright, but the sun didn't let any of its heat seep onto her skin. Her gaze landed on the bright flowers in the garden, suddenly they fell on Dabi stood in the garden. His back was turned to her and his long coat blew in the wind, but the wind didn't ruffle Hayami's beautiful hair. She began to skip towards him, but suddenly her body was grabbed, immense pain filled her stomach as she looked down. Hayami's white dress was now staining red, with her blood dripping from the sword wound. She cried for Dabi but his gaze remained away from her, her gaze turned to look at the man holding her. It was his father. His gaze was cold, and he let Hayami fall to the floor, there she tried to crawl to Dabi but he only seemed to grow further away from her. Continuing screaming his name as tears oozed down her cheeks, blood pouring from her mouth. Finally, he turned, and his gaze was pained, something she couldn't bear looking at it, so her eyes closed. "Wake up!" His voice called, and she felt arms grab her violently "Hayami, wake up!" He shouted.

Her breathing had ceased "Hayami! Your dreaming!" Dabi had ran into the room after hearing the unconscious woman screaming for him, he held her in his arms trying to wake her. His tight grip noticed her breathing slowly ceasing "Damn it, breath!" He grumbled "Hayami! Leave the willow tree!" Suddenly Hayami gasped sitting up, with arms supporting her "Dabi!" she cried, and the arms pulled her back gently. Blue eyes stared at her wide and fearful, the man's breathing was quick, and he sighed. "You scared half the palace screaming my name" Her eyes widened as she moved her gaze to the maids and guards watching from the end of the bed. She was breathing frantically and then shoved her face in Dabi's shoulder "She's fine"

"Are you sure I shouldn't call the doctor?" Fuyumi muttered looking at the pale girl trembling "No"

"But"

"Go to bed, that's an order!" The group in the room slowly walked away muttering quietly to themselves. The door closed, and Dabi sighed moving to sit comfortably on the bed. "Hayami" He muttered ever so softly "Do you want to talk about it"

"You didn't turn around" She cried into his chest

"I didn't turn around?"

"No, I was screaming for you and you didn't turn" she sobbed, and the man quickly brushed his hands through her tangled locks. "Well, that's what you saw when you were asleep, the minute I heard you screaming for me I was by your side" Hayami slowly pulled herself up to stare at the man. Sniffing, and rubbing her eyes she looked at the man "Really?" He nodded his head, his hands hovering over her arms for comfort. "It felt so real" She sighed before falling into his chest again, he sighed and shuffled in bed. Falling slowly onto his back, he held Hayami to his chest. "Well then I won't leave your side till you fall asleep" she met his gaze, her eyes widening at the tenderness that burned in them. "Then I'll be here if you scream for me"

"Declaration of war?" she joked quietly

"No" He muttered, not noticing her joke "It's what I want to do" Hayami smiled snuggling into his chest. The pair laid in silence for a while, just savouring each other's warmth. "My real names Touya" He whispered softly, she stirred slightly to look up at him "Touya?" His hands tightened slightly around her waist as he heard her utter those words, he nodded his head. "So, if I don't turn around to Dabi, I'll turn around to Touya" Hayami smiled and pulled herself up to be shoulder level with him. He turned snaking a hand around her hip holding her close, as his other arm was used as a pillow. Her arms wrapped around the arm she was using as a pillow, "You've got a big journey tomorrow, you need your sleep"

"I don't know" Hayami whispered "With a gentleman treating me so nicely, how do you expect a lady to leave him" Dabi chuckled at her words. Her breathing soon fell in rhythm and she had drifted off. He promised that he'd leave when she fell asleep, but her tight grip on him meant that he couldn't find the strength to move. Not the grip on his arm, the grip she had on his heart. Breathing softly, he moved his head to kiss her hair as his eyes slowly closed, falling asleep listening to her even breaths.
