I am not Andrea! I'm Rea. Rea Ann!
Adrean stood stunned as an unexpected memory flashed through his mind. He had said something similar before in one of his past lives. To whom? He couldn't remember. They were all vague flashes of muddled-up memories but the words, somehow, took the breath out of his lungs and rendered him speechless as he stared at the ground in shock.
It wasn't a while after NJ placed a hand over his shoulders did he come back to reality, by which time a certain someone who owned the face of his greatest enemy had stormed out of the scene. "Adri."
"Namjoon," Adrean glared up at him. "Explain."
___________
A monster... Someone who doesn't deserve to live...
A bitter smile tugged up at Hoseok's lips as he sat on one of the campus benches, staring at the ground.
He knew they were not aimed at him. He knew the strange guy had meant those words for the Vile One. and that he wasn't the Vile One but still...it stung all the same.
It wasn't fair that he was the one who had to suffer through all the hatred that was aimed at Vile One. He buried his face in his palms, feeling the scorching heat of the afternoon sun on him. It just wasn't fair...
"Hey, um... I don't think you should take what that guy said seriously, you know? You didn't deserve to hear that." Hoseok was too busy self-pitying to have heard the voice. He didn't register her presence until she crouched down on the ground in front of him and looked up with a purse of her lips. "I mean it," Sia affirmed. "You can see if I'm telling the truth if you look into my eyes, don't you? Try it then."
Hoseok wasn't in the mood to talk to her, or anyone for that matter. But he couldn't resist the slight pique of curiosity at her words. Without his permission, his eyes trailed up to her face and looked into the brown glittering orbs and what he found in them intrigued him. Sincerity. His lips pulled into a sarcastic smile. "What happened to little Ms.Normal?"
Sia took great offense to that name. "Hey, can we leave it in the past? I apologized for it and you forgave me...I think? I don't think there's a reason you cannot be different from the rest of us and still lead a normal life as long as you're a good person. So you're good."
Hoseok narrowed his eyes at her doubtfully and Sia agreed that it did seem absurd. From his point of view, her personality took a 180 in the span of mere 48 hours and that must be pretty hard to trust. She sighed, looking away as she tried to find a way to explain herself when her eyes fell on the glinting metal chain on his left wrist. She involuntarily reached out to it in amazement, "So... this is where your soul--"
Hoseok jerked back his hand with a glare.
"Oh, um, sorry. I was just..." She drew a deep breath, "Anyway, what I am trying to say is, my dislike for you wasn't all a part of my free will. I think I am connected to you somehow and I don't know the details. Ask NJ but what I'm saying is, I don't really hate you or anything."
Hoseok's eyes narrowed back again in skepticism and Sia knew she had to explain. "Listen, at that time when I slapped you in front of the whole school, do you really think I would have done that had I been in my right mind? Do you think I am that stupid?"
If the expression on his face was any indication, Hoseok did think she was that stupid. She gritted out, annoyed. "I'm not, okay? I just sometimes do stuff that I can't control. Like you! Remember that day on the cliffside? How do you think I even got there? I don't know that place! I have never been there." Sia exclaimed but his expression remained skeptical. She sighed. "You don't believe me, do you?"
