A delicate voice questioned, mirroring her posture as he drew his knees to his chest. Sia didn't know why she didn't question the Time Angel's sudden presence; instead, she leaned her head back watching the ceiling as she reveled in the calming aura of his presence.

"What was that?"

Jimin drew a short breath running his fingers through his honey blonde hair. "Your past life."

Sia never guessed it. It came to her as a surprise. It made sense. She had a past life. Something triggered her memories and the horrible memories came flooding back. That was the reason NJ once refused to tell her about her dream. Because he was afraid it would trigger her memories.

"Can you tell me more about it?" Sia asked softly, turning her head to the side so that she could see the Time Angel's face as he stared pointedly at the floor avoiding her eyes.

"Are you sure you want to know?"

"Hmm," Sia hummed in response, never more sure of herself than she was at that moment.

Jimin heaved in a great amount of air in preparation before he responded, "Your past life was horrible to you. It scarred you, caused you a great amount of pain, made you do sins you would have never committed had you been sane, made you end the vicious cycle by yourself."

Sia leaned her head against her knees that were pulled up to her chest. Jimin's voice was so delicate, the timbre of his voice soothing against the silence of her room.

"Do you know why you were chosen as the messenger, Sia?" He inquired.

"No."

"This quest is your chance at redemption. Your powers will guide you and the Queen's blessings would lead you to a life you didn't get to experience in your past. It's Queen Yama's way of giving you a second chance."

"I heard NJ talk. He said you knew what would happen." There was a sharp intake of breath that made Sia rise up and turn back to face him. The angel was still evading her eyes. "Is it true?"

Jimin reluctantly nodded his head, pulling his knees closer to his chest. The aura around him brightened in response, dazzling the room in a myriad of gold and white lights.

"Why?"

He raised his head to stare up at whatever lay beyond the ceiling of her hotel room as if he could see through the solid concrete. "It is the tragic fate of an Angel of Time."

Sia understood why NJ was so fed up with the Time Angel before him. Everything he said was so cryptic that she could feel her brain frying trying to come up with an explanation for his words. Finally conceding defeat, she pressed. "Why? Why is that your fate? Why did you keep quiet? Why didn't you help me? Why didn't you let NJ help me? Why aren't you giving me a straight answer? Why wouldn't you look me in the eyes when I'm talking to you?"

Jimin remained calm even as her voice gradually rose with pent-up frustration but he flinched at her last question. He finally risked lowering his eyes from the ceiling to meet hers.

"Time Angels are more mysterious than you think, Sia. Because they know things others don't, they see things others can't and have to watch things play out with their hands tied when they know beforehand what would happen. All for the greater good..."

He pursed his lips. "Sia, I have no other explanation except one. There must be suffering before peace. These train of events, no matter how horrid they are, would lead you to the future you deserve."

"Ever heard of the butterfly effect?" When she didn't reply, he explained, "It's a theory that suggests that even the smallest, insignificant actions could have chain reactions that can later on greatly impact the outcome, except it's not a theory. It's the truth. What you're going through now would later help you in the long run although it sounds like BS."
