Sia stepped out of the platform and stretched her hands above her head. The afternoon sun shone down on the tourist town of Fairy Town and she stood there a moment longer basking in its light. Hoseok dragged his suitcase along with him and came to a stop near her, watching the sunset. It was a beautiful scene. The sky was draped in red and orange hues, dim yellow rays kissing everything beneath it. A humid breeze brushed past as the wind carried sounds of the hustle and bustle of the waking nightlife in the city below.
"Wow... I gotta admit that I never really imagined Fairy Town to be this big." Sia commented.
"It's the main attraction of the state of Lavinia. Couples flock to this place all year long thanks to its numerous legends of Fairies. It was also ranked one of the top ten places for a romantic getaway. The town prides itself as a tourist town so yes, it's big." Hoseok narrated.
"Whoa, how do you know all that?" Sia asked as they walked forward.
Hoseok shrugged. "When you live in a business household, you learn to pick up certain things..."
"So, it's true that you're the youngest son of the WOH group? The famous hotel chain?" She blurted out, unable to reign in her curiosity. He simply said, "Yes."
"Amazing! But then you're majoring as a bachelor of performing arts, right?" Sia inquired enthusiastically.
"Yes." Hoseok kept walking.
"What did your parents say about that? Weren't they against it?" She ran to catch up with his long strides.
"No."
"So they were supportive? I half expected your parents to be like one of those k-drama parents who always control their children. Your parents are nice!"
"Hmm."
"What's with the dry replies?" Sia retorted.
"Yes."
"You know you're annoying, right?"
"Yes." Sia huffed stomping on the ground. Perhaps if she had looked closer, she might have seen his grin that threatened to show.
"We're here," he announced after a few minutes, halting in front of the huge Hotel building that had the name World of Hope. Sia stared up at the WOH branch of Lavinia in awe. It was truly a work of art with fountains as big as 10 feet tall and lavish green gardens. The columns of the entrance were as tall as her house and the sheer size of the lobby made her gasp. And this is just one branch of them?
Hoseok walked along unaffected by the grandness of the building. There he goes again. Why does this guy keep walking so fast?
Dragging her suitcase along with her, she ran to catch up. Upon nearing the front desk, he paused and she almost crashed into him. Turning around, he held out his hand. "Give me your ID and stay here. I will go get the rooms." Sia wanted to question why she had to stay put but she shrugged it off, handing him her ID.
A few minutes later, he was back with the key cards to their rooms. He extended one to her along with a curious-looking red card that suspiciously looked like a credit card.
"That's for you to use during the duration of this trip. The spending limit is quite higher than you think so you should have enough."
Sia took the cards amused. "Whoa... this feels like- this feels like you're my sugar--"
"Do not finish that sentence," Hoseok warned with a glare.
"--cube. Aww, aren't you so sweet?" Sia blinked innocently up at him, suppressing a smirk. He gave her a long look. Sia eyed the door card in his hand and the number etched on it. "At least we're neighbors." She gave him a little wink before she went to charge up the stairs. Hoseok didn't know what she meant by that. He didn't even want to know.
_______________
Early morning the next day Hoseok found himself knocking at the door to her room. It was half an hour past the time they decided to meet up for a small tour of the town to understand the layout and discuss potential places they could look for clues but Sia was yet to show up. Briefly, he worried if she was sick from the journey last night. His worries were, however, soon dismissed as a very sleepy-looking Sia opened the door, yawning as she rubbed her eyes, hair sticking out in every direction.
"You haven't even woken up yet?" Hoseok asked incredulously. And there he was waiting in the lobby for almost half an hour while she was cozily sleeping in on her bed.
"I'm sorry, what was that?" Sia grunted sleepily.
He sighed. What did he expect from her? She wasn't the one with the needs.
Sia seemed to blink out of her sleep. "Oh, wait. Wait! Sorry, I... am late again." She grinned guiltily. He frowned as he turned to go into his room. "I will come back after 15 minutes."
Sia winced as he shut the door. She had slept in again. Well, she wasn't planning to. It was just that she had forgotten to set the alarm again. Silly her. Rushing back inside, she prepared to get ready. Exactly fifteen minutes later, she had somehow managed to look human enough with her voluminous dark waves tamed into a ponytail, a few stray white strands dropping down to her shoulders, and a loose flannel shirt was lazily thrown over her torso. She admired herself in the mirror. It wasn't much but it should do.
Skipping around to pull on her old high school converses, she hopped up to the door. She made a mental note to get a new pair since these old ones were proving to be a menace. Pulling open the door, it sufficed to say that Sia wasn't prepared for the sight that stood waiting for her.
Jung Hoseok stepped out of his room at the same time with a different hoodie on but what surprised her wasn't that...
Sunshine shone in through a nearby balcony space, golden rays illuminating everything in its way and him. Carelessly running a hand through his jet black bangs, he closed the door and his eyes closed shut and wrinkled as he pulled his arms above his head for a stretch. Breathing out a puff of air, he turned to her, his two magnificent eyes coming to rest on her. "Ready?"
Sia stared, her lips parted in awe. Bloody hell! What does he eat to look like that?
Hoseok owned a certain elegance only members of high society had. He moved with such precision and grace. Daintily as if he were too delicate for the world. And I on the other hand look like a squid.
Sia grimaced. The world was truly unfair. He wasn't even wearing something fancy like he usually does but some faded dark hoodie that said 'Lucky me! I see ghosts' and still manage to look elegant. Why did he have to make her look like a sack of potatoes?
Well, it wasn't her fault that she liked comfortable clothing. If Sia wanted to look pretty she could do it but she took pride in her comfortable clothing. She liked it even if he made her look like a squid.
"That's right. Comfort is my style. Besides I am a hundred times classier than those pretentious designer chics anyways. So, I'm fine. Thanks."
Hoseok blinked. "Uh... okay?" He gave her a quizzical look that seemed to scream, 'why the hell are you telling me that?' Sia slowly realized that she had accidentally spoken out loud. She quickly changed the subject before he could think too much about it.
"It's a great day outside, isn't it? Ahh, I wonder what's for breakfast. Let's hurry!"
