" 𝓔vie! Where are you going? " Hope questioned, having just finished her dinner and heading up to her room. The witch in question crosses paths with her at the bottom of the stairs, both trying to head up at the same time.
" I'm just going to the attic to grab a few things. " Evelyn replied, a small smile to the girl as they walked up the stairs together. Hope nodded her head slowly in response, pondering over what to say next. Evelyn beat her to it, trying to keep the brief conversation cheerful as the two ascended up the stairs. " How was painting earlier? " Evelyn questioned, wondering how well Klaus and Hope were getting along. Hope's smile brightened as she looked up to the witch. " It was really good, we went to look in the forest for flowers and Dad told me how he used to crush the flowers down to make his own paint. " Ev couldn't help but to beam back at the girl, all of the hard work that Hayley and her put in over the years was paying off. Hope was happy. Evelyn's job was done. " That's great!- " Ev said, reaching the top of the stairs with Hope who nodded once. " -i'll see you later kiddo. " She concluded as the tribrid happily turned on her heels to head to her room.
Evelyn headed down the corridor to where the stairs to the attic were, leading up to the door which was normally tightly shut. But as Evelyn rounded the corner to begin up the stairs she noticed that the door was somewhat open. Startled slightly, having expected everyone to be downstairs she made her way up the stairs and slowly pushed the door open further. Revealing Kol stood within the open space, glancing over the small set up Evelyn had within the attic. As she entered the dusty room the Original glanced to her direction, the two haven't exchanged words since earlier in the day when they spoke with Rebekah. The light within the attic was dim to start with, even darker now as the sun was beginning to set outside of the house. Enclosing the room in a darkness that left the witch somewhat uneasy. She flicked her hand towards the table where an assortment of candles stood, igniting at her gesture and giving the room some light. The room was quiet, neither spoke for a moment but just exchanged a silent acceptance that the other was within this space.
" Everything alright? " Evelyn began, looking over to her table and grabbing her shoulder bag from near the entrance then placing it upon the table. Kol followed her movements briefly before turning his attention back to the room in general. " I came up here for some peace away from everyone.- " He stated, watching as each step left more dust upon that corner of the room. " - seems I won't be getting that now. " he glanced back at her, seeing what she was doing. The witch had begun to pack up a few things, her books, crystals, a blade, some of the dark objects Hayley had given to her. Kol stepped closer looking at the objects in hand. " Going somewhere? Specifically, going somewhere with my objects? " He asked, taking the rosary of madness from her. Evelyn turned to face him, reaching for the object he took but paused; taking in a deep breath. " your objects? Hayley gave these to me- " Evelyn began but with an eyeroll Kol interrupted " -which were stolen from me decades ago. " He looked back to the object, placing it on the table. " Where are you going? " He asked again.
The young witch glanced up to him, bright hazel eyes staring into him as she gathered the words she dared to speak. " I don't know!- " She exclaimed, placing the bag back down on the table. " -I don't know what I'm doing. " She concluded, slightly more quiet now. Everyone seemed to be asking her that, what will she do now? The vampire stood silently, frowning as the witch took a moment to collect herself. She turned to lean against the table, looking out at the room before her. " I spent years hiding from my coven... I've travelled far and wide across America to find what Hayley needed. I guess I was naive in thinking I could just go back home afterwards. I just wanted to help but- " She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to calm herself. Kol kept his gaze on her, listening to the Witch with a curious expression. " -they don't need my help anymore. So what do I do now? " She lightly scoffed, the thought of asking a vampire for help with her witch problem was bittersweet. She knew she had to run, there was nothing left for her in New Orleans yet she didn't have anywhere else to turn.
