The walk back to St Anne's took longer than Kol had anticipated, for the first time since his love had returned to the mortal plane he was in no rush to get back to her. The grief that clung to him slowed him down, once again betrayal was his only option. To turn upon his own blood to prevent harm coming from the undeserving. To Davina. To Evelyn. The Mikaelson had a firm grip on the totem that resided in his jacket pocket, knowing that if any harm came to the object then nothing but further grief would follow.

Kol entered the abandoned church and made his way up the stairs and took slow steps towards the door to the attic, he heard Davina stand up; the clicking of her heels on the rotting wood gave away her position. The original exhales slowly before opening the door.

" Kol " Davina stated, relief forming on her face as she stepped towards him. " I was worried you were someone else.. " she trails off but Kol didn't need to inquire into who she thought was after her. Though he hoped that the Hollow was far from them, allowing them this peace together... before the hells open and his family fall victim to the devilish witch who has him like a marionette upon strings.

" It's alright love, just me. " He gives her a reassuring smile, even if it was visibly forced the sentiment remained. He didn't want her to worry, but how could she not? In this situation it was inevitable. " What did she make you do Kol? " Davina questions, hands moving to cup his face; her gaze firm upon his own, though he couldn't withhold the eye contact. He pauses for a moment, lowering his gaze to the floor. " I'm looking after something for her. " He states, moving past the witch to take a seat on the edge of the bed. Davina turns to watch him, squinting slightly.

" Something? Well what is it? " She questions, observing him as her worry begins to grow. Kol continues to avoid her gaze, pursing his lips in thought. " A totem. " He replies bluntly. His reluctance to update her on current happenings had her worry boiling over. " What is it you're not telling me Kol? " She snaps at him, moving to stand before him. The Mikaelson finally met her gaze and conceded. " The totem prevents her from dying- " he pulls the totem from his pocket and shows her. " -she wants me to keep it safe whilst she's finished with the others or you'll suffer. " He stands once more, inhaling slowly; watching as the witch processes the information. Davina's eyes were fixated upon the totem. " By finished with the others you mean... " She trails off.

" By putting an end to the Labonair line " Kol confirms, Davina's head snapping back up towards his own. The vampire closes his eyes briefly before opening them and slowly nodding his head, the witch stepping to the side and raising a hand slowly to her lips. Kol could only imagine how many thoughts were surging through her mind, he watched on and continued to drown in the sinking feeling within his chest. The witch walked back over, hands resting on the totem for a few moments before she finally speaks.

" You should destroy this. Hayley could die. " She speaks softly, pained by the thought. Kol frowned for a moment, observing her. " And why is her life more important than yours? " He questions, moving the totem back into his pocket, walking past her once again. " I can't take a little girl's mother away from her, Kol. It's the right thing to do. " Davina matched her lover's frown, neither understanding the other's view. The Mikaelson scoffs as he moves to slump into one of the seats. " You sound like Evelyn. " Davina closes the distance between them, she crouches in front of him as her hands rest on his lap. " and I bet she'd be telling you the same thing. Saving us isn't worth all of this Kol " She speaks softly, eyes pleading with him to see reason. Kol leans forward, his hand resting upon her cheek. " Well I'm not letting you go, not again Davina Claire. "

Kol stands, his hands aiding the witch to stand with him. He looks at her with a loving gaze, placing a kiss to her forehead before embracing her tightly. " And you're wrong. Evelyn would stop at nothing to help those who deserve it and you deserve it. " He speaks softly as the Witch melts into his arms.

" This isn't an option Kol. " Davina matches his gentle tone, stepping out of his arms. " Then we just have to find another way to get you out of this because there is no way I'm letting you go. " The original takes hold of her hands, determined to keep her close... to keep her alive. The Claire witch smiles softly to him. " I've been thinking, Elijah once gave me one of your mother's spells. It's used to break a magical link. I'm too weak right now and Evelyn is god knows where with the Hollow but if we could find someone to counter her spell, then... " Kol's brows furrow for a moment before he looks back at her.

" I know the spell and I know just the powerful little witch... " He steps back and heads towards the door, though he stops a few feet away. The Mikaelson dug his hand into his jean pockets and pulled out his keys, Kol turned around and hands the keys over to Davina.

" I have a car in the lot a few blocks down. If I'm not back by midnight you take it and you go. " He turns to leave again. " Wait, without you? What...are you kidding? What are you doing? " The witch becomes panicked at the suggestion, what did he mean by those words?

" Davina, I'm not asking. I need you to do this. Promise me. " He answers firmly, standing before the closed door.

The witch hesitates for a few moments before nodding and uttering a soft " yeah. "

And with that the Mikaelson speeds from the room and out into the New Orleans street once more, to begin his potentially life-saving counter-plan.
