The glimmers of gentle gold and silver peaked through the blinds of the bedroom and teased at the young witch's sleeping state, the sound of seagulls flying above the Villa was like a natural alarm for the girl to wake to and soon enough Evelyn was beginning to stir from her peculiar slumber.

Beside her, pacing within the room; stood Kol on the phone, seemingly trying to reassure the caller; he'd been trying to peace together what had happened but a few hours ago. The longer the conversation went on the more the drowsy witch could make out who was calling. It was Hayley, of course it would be. Had it been such a big deal? Collapsing so suddenly without reason? It didn't make sense at all. As she began to wake he sat upright within his seat and looked to the witch with a frown plastered to his expression. Kol glanced over to Evelyn when he heard slight movement and quickly hung up the phone before moving to sit down in the seat beside the bed.

" Evelyn? " He spoke quietly, watching as she began to sit up with her back against the headboard of the bed. Her eyes are slowly opening, revealing that pale Hazel colour like cinnamon and cream which darted around the room whilst the other got her bearings. She pauses, blinking away her sleep and her eyes finally fall upon the Mikaelson sat beside her. " hmm? What- " She began " what the bloody hell is going on? " Kol spoke, a mix of frustration and concern. Evelyn fell quiet for a moment, both of them waiting for an answer of some sort.

Kol rose a brow, a small scoff leaving his lips at the silence " what happened Evelyn? " He pushed for an answer. The Witch moved some hair from a face and brought her legs up to cross them in her sitting position. " I don't know what happened " she replied sheepishly, finally looking up to the others gaze. "... that's never happened before " She continued, eyes now falling down to her hands that lay within her lap. Kol handed her back the phone which happened to be her own phone before leaning back in his seat. " Hayley called, said that Hope had a message for you... she woke up in the night screaming. - " He paused, the idea of his niece so distressed seemed to agitate him. " - she kept saying that ' they want you to come home but you can't? ' " Kol frowned at his relayed message, unsure of what it meant. It didn't make sense. Evelyn matched his frown but shrugged it off to being Hope missing her. She lowered her gaze, feeling saddened by Hope's ordeal yet her attention soon turned to her hand that held her phone. Her hands ached more than usual and the trembling had worsened. Evelyn raised her left hand to look at it, examining the sudden change within her veins which were almost as vibrant as the Saint Tropez harbour.

The Mikaelson followed her gaze and took in a deep breath " What happened to your hands? Why are they like that? " He asked, which caused Evelyn to sink in her posture whilst attempting to find the words. " it happened just over five years ago now.. " She began, examining her hand as she spoke. "... I was performing a spell to aid a family in my coven and everything just- " She pauses, frowning " -went wrong. The spell would of worked perfectly but... the ancestors they just.. vanished. " She glanced up to meet his eyes. " ever since then the ancestors have been gone and my hands... they're like this. " Evelyn lowers her trembling hands to her lap once more, keeping her focus upon the Mikaelson. There was a mix of emotions that seemed to be rattling around within his mind, he slowly lowered his head and muttered a ".. sorry " in the most sincerity she'd ever heard come from the Mikaelson. Evelyn's frown only grew as she sat up straight once more " it's not your fault, no need to apologise. " the witch spoke, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lip. " But.. about last night, I— "

" what are you two blathering about? " the sound of the Mikaelson Barbie's voice came from the doorway to her bedroom as the blonde lent against the door frame with a glare. Kol slowly got up from his seat and looked to his sister. " nothing that would interest you dear sister " He remarked, giving a side glance to Evelyn before heading to the exit; sliding past his sister who remained watching the young Witch. She waits for a moment before scoffing and leaving the room.
