Chapter 13

IRIS

Sudden banging on the door and the sounds of it being kicked down woke me and James up straight away

"HELLO, POLICE ARE HERE PLEASE STEP OUT."

"James." fear filled up and tears spilled out my eyes

"Don't worry baby I can get out of this I promise you." He kissed my forehead and that was the last time I saw James graham.

~1 YEAR LATER ~

IRIS POV

I never forgot about him, my parents never let me out of there site, they were still disgusted in me, my best friend well ex best friend moved on to the popular kids at college and they all thought I was a freak for being in love with him, I missed him more than anything, he promised me he could get out of this.

My phone started ringing and the caller id was unknown so I was puzzled but answered anyway

"Hello?"

"Iris." I gasp. it was James' voice I hadn't heard it in so long

"James?!"

"Step outside your house." a massive rush of happiness took over my body as I ran out not caring I was only in trackies and a plain white top with no makeup and hair shoved in a messy bun.

His face, he was stood there looking so perfect the smile couldn't wipe away from my face I ran up to him and hugged him for so long he picked me up in the air and his arms stayed tightly on my waist but then the broken promise swayed back in to my mind.

"James let go of me."

"What?" But he did so anyway

"You lied to me."

"When? how?"

"You promised me you could get out of it, you promised you wouldn't leave me why did you break them."

I pushed him away on the verge of tears

"I tried iris, I tried so hard you know how much I need you."

"OI GET OFF HER THIS INSTANT."

My mum came running down and she was furious

"Iris you stupid little girl, will you ever learn!"

"Don't you dare talk about her like that." James stepped in and I held onto his arm

"James don't."

"I can talk about her how I bloody like, I'm not having you around my daughter!" she spat with the same rage she came outside with

"I don't think you know what I'm capable of do you?" he smirked and my mums face turned slightly scared because she heard the rumours just like everyone else.

"Iris get inside this instant."

I held onto James' arm not letting go until surprisingly my mum turned around with words that hurt me more than anything else ever could.

"Fine you stick with your little 'bad boy' I don't care, you always have been a mistake to me you stupid girl, I don't care about you, leave with him but when he breaks your heart don't you dare come running back to me and your father."

She turned around and James was about to chase her till I tightened my grip and he turned around and saw all the tears falling out uncontrollable.

My own mother just abandoned me.
