Chapter 21: A Night at The Fountain

Neontra licked her mint chip flavored ice cream while Totem stared into the distance since he already finished his ice cream. She had a smile plastered on her face as she let the minty taste settle into her mouth. She placed her paws on her cheeks and shook her head form side to side. Totem gave her a smirk as Neontra expressed her enjoyment of the minty ice cream she was eating. Totem stood up from the fountain and stood in front of Neontra who had just finished the last chunk of her ice cream.

"Will you dance with me?" asked Totem with one of his paws extended towards the now startled Espeon. 
"Well I don't know how to dance" admitted Neontra as she fiddled with her ear fluff. 
Totem rolled his eyes in a playful manner as he took one of her paws and forced her to stand in front of him.
"You're wonderful at singing so you should be pretty decent when it comes to dancing." said Totem but Neontra kept shaking her head no. 

After a few mintues of back and fornt conversation Neontra reluctantly agreed to dance with the golden feliene. Totem obviosly took the lead since Neontra had no clue what she was doing. 

The two of them danced around the whole square and they were attracting the attention of many other Pokemon. The alolan Vulpix came out and started to play a flute so that the two of them can have some form of music. While playing, the Vulpix padded up to the fountain and sat on the outer rim of it. There was a Frossglas that came out of one of the shops and noticed the two felines dancing. She decided to set the mood, so she used the move frost breath which created a glimmering effect in the whole square. Some pidoves flew above Neonta and Totem and with that, the mood was set. The Vulpix plays a calm, yet lovely tune as Totem slowly twirls Neontra around the square.

"You know, your not so bad at dancing." admitted Totem as he brought her closer to him. Neontra rolled her eyes before she noticed that her cheeks were burning up. 
"You're just saying that to make me feel better." teased Neontra as she giggled under her breath. 
Wait did that just come out of me? thought Neontra as Totem continued to dance around the neon square. Some crystal snowflakes were falling and the Vulpix was now playing a violin with the similar tune to ode to joy. Neontra was now blushing like a madman. She tried to hide her face but she couldn't. Totem chuckled while he twirled her once more before ending their lovely dance. The Vulpix giggled a little before heading back to the ice cream shop for she new that her business was done here. 

Totem sat back at the fountain and Neontra followed him because she felt an urge to be near the golden cat. She sat next to him and placed one of her paws on his without thinking it through. When she noticed what she was doing it was too late! Neontra's eyes met Totem's as they stared into each others eyes. He couldn't take his eyes away form hers and he felt a certain throbbing in his chest. Neontra felt the same way as she slowly backed away from the Meowstic. She finally broke her gaze as removed her paw from being on top of Totem's. The golden Meowstic smirked as he watched Neontra fix her sparkling dress.

"We should head back before it gets too cold." said Totem as he stood up from the fountain and looked into the sky. Neontra stared at him as he watched the stars glisten in the dark blue sky. Totem turned his eyes to Neontra which made Neontra blush yet again. 
"Come on let's go." said Totem as he took Neontra by the paw and headed back to the dorms. Neontra took one last glance at the neon lit plaza before she turned her gaze to the male of her dreams. 
So this is what it feels like when people say that they are in love with other species. Neontra thought as she let her tail intertwin with Totem's tail.
