I ended up only getting two hours of sleep that night and I only woke up because Jake banged on my door. I lazily just threw on some shorts and V-neck. Ever since I got back, I had to always be prepared for phasing.
Once I walked into class the teacher was already yelling at me for being late. I really didn't want to hear her, so I just blocked her out and focused on my work. I was really glad I sat behind Paul because that meant he wouldn't be staring at me. But in all honesty it made me happy being near him. The emptiness I had last night suddenly disappeared when I saw him. I felt calm again but I hate the fact that it had everything to do with the imprint.
By next class period it was terrible because the desk in this class are in groups of three, so I sat at there alone with Paul. I was so focused on my work that I didn't realize he was actually looking at me shocked. I had just finished the whole packet when the teacher assigned us to do just the first page.
"So you really are a ner... smart." He was about to say something else but the bell rang, so I dashed off to the next class. I had forgotten that I also have Paul in this class and that I also sat right next to him.
"Did you know you snore?" Paul asked taking a seat.
"No I don't."
"You do. You were snoring yesterday."
"No, I don't and I wasn't."
"Okay, you don't and you weren't. But why haven't you been sleeping? Don't you patrol tonight?"
"No, I Patrol tomorrow night."
"Why are you ignoring the question?"
"Why do you want to know?" He stayed quit for moment. He looked like if he just wanted confess something, but he was hesitant.
"It's killing me. You may not think so, but it does hurt me." Oh god, what do I do? Or say? "And then when I'm suddenly near you, everything changes." He explained.
"That's why. It's the imprint talking." We were now looking at each other. "Everything has changed." I tell him looking back at my work.
"It definitely has." He says moving my hair behind my ear smiling. I couldn't help but smile, it was quickly gone. Why couldn't I have a say in what I want?
"Oh by the way, I have to show you something. I didn't see it until you left last night." He pulled out his phone and showed me a picture. It was a few pictures of Embry with me asleep right next to him.
Embarrassed, I slapped my forehead and then Paul started laughing. Embry had sent it to him. I pretty much knew the rest of the pack had seen them already.
"Those are the pictures he had yesterday right?" he just nodded because he was still laughing. "Jared said they were pictures from when they went cliff diving." And he continued laughing more.
"Hey, get up, you can continue your nap during lunch." I was shook awake and frightened for a moment. "Are you okay?"
"Sure, Sure. I'm fine. Thanks." I gathered all my things and dumped them into my backpack.
"I think you're hanging o-"
He didn't even finish. I was already out of the classroom. As soon as I walked into the cafeteria and sat down next, where he eventually sat next to me, everything was better again. Sam was right. The more we fought it, the more pain we will each start feeling. I can't take it knowing that we're causing each other pain.
I was skipping lunch today because I wanted to sleep. But when the guys and I got up to go get in the lunch line, I knew Paul was still there
"I think you look wonderful no matter what." I assumed he gone because it was very silent.

"So what's going on between you and Paul?" Kim asked once we came out of the locker rooms for P.E. I thought about the answer. Nothing, were just friends."What does she mean?" I turn around to look at my brother. He was angry and shaking. "Stay away from Paul. You know he's bad news! You said it yourself!"
"God, not right now. Embry!" We dragged my brother until we got him into the woods. I'm pretty sure he has heard the rumors about the guys. And to top it off, he knows the history between Paul and I.
"Tango, Calm down." But he was still shaking and almost growling he was going to phase any moment now. I really wish he had known everything. When he finally did phase he was going crazy. The only way to help him was if I phased.
"What the! Why do I have fur? Oh my god, oh my god! I'm a mutant!"
"Tango, Calm down!" Sam yelled. He was near us.
"How is this possible? Is that possible? Get out of my head!"
"Tango! Sam will be here and he will explain everything. I have to go."
"No! No, no, no, no!" He was growling. I could tell how angry he was. It wasn't as close to how I get.
"Tango, Try to stay calm!" Sam yelled. He still wasn't listening. "Tango!"
"Tango!" I yelled as loud as I could. And he finally did. That just proved that Sam was right. I did have to tell them.
