Bonfire

This morning when I woke up. I felt good for once. Tango and I wouldn't be going to school and it was going to be a long day. In other words morning patrols are from eight a.m. to six p.m. Which meant I would be here the whole day... with my brother...Who is most likely going to annoy me.

Later:

"Tango, you can go to the bond fire now. Tell Sam to start without me and do what they have to do. I'll be back on time to speak with him and the council."

It's already six. I'm honestly debating on whether I should even show up.

"We haven't said anything, we needed to have this meeting first." I simply just nodded at Aunt Sue while everyone watched me.

"Lillian, what's your decision? It doesn't matter what you chose, Jacob will become third command."

No, I didn't even want to be in the pack. How could they want this? I understand it was for the protection of the tribe, but still. I looked at my uncle's worried face. I know what he wanted me to choose, but I can't.

"Sam stay's Alpha."

And like that I became second in command. I quickly walked out the house. They clearly haven't told the pack anything and I'm not going to stand around to watch them tell them. I was already past the burning fire when someone called out my name.

"Lily." I stopped and turned to see Paul getting up from the log. I looked at him and adored the look on his face.

"Not now Paul!" I then started running into the woods trying to stay away from everyone. It didn't matter if they came looking for me. I could easily hide my thoughts and they won't be able to hear or see what I see. I thought about the voice that asked him where I was going. I knew it was Jared's. He didn't sound thrilled with me, because I was leaving in the middle of the meeting.

Paul's POV:

I was about to start running after when Jared came up to me.

"Where is she going? Were in the middle of a pack meeting with the council!" He was angry. I was about to leave after her again but Billy called us to gather around again.

"You have all questioned Lillian's strength. So tonight we are going to share why." What the hell was he taking about?

"Ephraim Black was the original shape-shifter, it's meant that his heir is to be Alpha of this pack. His heir happens to be Lillian." Along with everyone else, we were all shocked.

"This is why she left when she first phased, this wasn't a future she wanted. Lillian can fight it, but she's descend to become Alpha. Although we had a meeting today. As of today, Sam stays Alpha and she's Beta. Jacob's third in command."

"So she is Alpha? She's just not calling herself that?" I found myself asking.

"Exactly, No matter what she will always be an Alpha." Is this why she doesn't want us to be together? I know it's not because she thinks she's better than us. It can't be. Other than the fact that she has a temper, she's l good. And kind.

"That's why I wasn't able to calm Tango down yesterday. She's a stronger Alpha then I will ever be. It's why we can't see or hear what she's thinking, she controls all of it. It's why she's the strongest, runs the fastest and phases the fastest."

"There goes our money." Brady muttered under his breath to Collin.

"I had no idea she joined the pack. That explains why we don't speak to me anymore." I heard Bella tell Jacob. She and Lily were always good friends along with Jake, but after Lily found out about her relationship with the bloodsuckers after she phased , she kind of hated the idea, but she is Jacob's cousin, they are both so alike that they've done whatever to still be friends with her. It makes me sick. Though she never told her that she joined the pack.
