I wake up the next morning to the familiar sound of tapping on my window. My hand reaches up to rub the sleep from my eyes and clear my vision. I stretch my arms up and pop my joints before realizing what the knocking had meant. My eyes widen and I jump up from bed. The slickness of the wooden floor causes me to slip as I scurry to the window pane. Hunter's muffled chuckle can be heard faintly from the other side. The glass creaks open as Hunter gets reveal more clearly. He sighs out and examines my disheveled appearance.
"You're so cute when you first wake up." He smiles cutely. My cheeks dust pink as I hold my them and look away.
"Did you need something?" I mumble out, suddenly nervous at the act of his innocent flirting.
"Oh, right!" He perks up and reaches into the pocket of his uniform. He pulls out a brand new scroll, with all of the latest features. "This is for you." He holds it out to me with a goofy, pure smile. My eyes dart between the object and Hunter's adorable face.
"Where did you get this? I can't accept this." I push his hand away.
"Oh, don't worry I just-" Hunter cuts himself off and pauses. "IIIIII-uh...confiscated it." He nods finally, confirming that as his story.
"Awww!" I coo. Hunter tenses, not knowing what I'm gawking about. "Am I turning you into a troublemaker?" My eyes sparkle at the thought.
"N-no!" Hunter stutters out, second guessing his actions. "Are you gonna take the scroll or not?" He pushes the tech towards me once more. I giggle at his sudden defensiveness.
"Of course. How else am I gonna keep in contact with my favorite Golden Boy?" I take the scroll, our hands brushing in the process. Hunter's gorgeous magenta eyes flick to our hands as his cheeks turn red.
"Right," He clears his throat. "Anyway, I already put my contact in there, so just text me whenever, if you want." He averts his gaze.
"I'm gonna be so annoying." I smile evilly.
"You could never annoy me." Hunter comments sweetly.
"Oh, just wait." I tuck the scroll away.
"Anyway," He rolls his eyes and leans against the windowsill. "You have any ideas for our date?"
"Actually, yeah. I was thinking maybe grudgby?"
"Oh-um..." Hunter rubs his neck and looks away.
"What? What's wrong? You don't like grudgby?" I ask, worried.
"No, no it's just..." He hesitates. "I'm one of the best players in the Coven and I don't wanna upset you by winning." He mentions, genuine.
"I...what?" I stare at him dumbfounded. "That's so insulting. How do you think I learned more advanced magic?" I flick Hunter's forehead.
"Hey, ow!" He rubs the spot I hit. "I'm just saying! Don't get mad and hate me if I win."
"Oh, you won't. How good can some little Coven goon be?" I tease him with a devious smirk.
"I'll have you know, I'm one of only 3 witches in the Emperor's Coven that got a letterman jacket from Belos for winning our Grudgby championship!"
"Yeah? I'll believe it when I see it." I blow a raspberry, which he returns.
"I'll bring it to our date. You'll just have to wait and see." Hunter crosses his arms and upturns his nose playfully.
"Then, I'll beat you into the ground, and prove you Coven goons are lame."
"We'll see about that, Miss Scared Of A Little Rat." He smirks.
"That rat was huge and feral and you know it!" I defend quickly. Hunter laughs at how easily I was riled up. I turn away and pout.
