An explanation that a few of you need to hear. My personal life has been dragged through the media for some while now, who I'm dating, who I'm sleeping with. This video is a message to you all, for the support, the love you give everyday, but also for the people who continue to slander me, my friends and my family in the media for keeping something I wanted kept personal.
I hope you all can find some humanity in yourselves to let me find my way, and grieve in my own time.
Thank you,
Lacey.

Lacey sat in front of her laptop camera, the video filter chosen in black and white to hide whatever tiredness or sorrow laced her face. A baggy jumper, with her hair in a messy bun, her glasses that she hated wearing on her face, again to cover anything her eyes had to say.

"It's been a while Instagram" she whispered, as she sighed to herself. "I didn't think I would have to do this, but a day or two of acknowledging the information me and my family have been told, I think it's time I become honest, and tell you the side of the story that I've been hiding" Lacey continued, taking a deep breath.
"At the start of September, late August, I found out that due to being in a private relationship I had been having, with someone I care so much about, despite the media twisting into their own publicity show, I fell pregnant. I held this information close, and continued to perform at shows that I had scheduled, and events I had planned" Lacey stated, her voice calm, her tone of voice not giving too much away. "But recently, I found that something was wrong, and I had to go to the hospital" Lacey whispered, her voice becoming broken, as she held the piece of paper with her speech she had written over and over again.
"Unfortunately, someone, somewhere had other plans, and due to that I" Lacey stopped, rubbing her hands underneath her glasses, wiping at her eyes and she breathed out a long breath she was holding in, her voice shaking. "Unfortunately, my little baby decided that they were to perfect for this earth, that they needed to be somewhere else right now" Lacey whispered, as the tears fell down her face. "Myself, and Mason are currently beside ourselves, and during this time I would like to ask for some humanity, some respect that despite being in the media's eyes, we are human beings" Lacey stated, wiping her eyes again. "I'm not confirming mine and Masons relationship as in fact, we are just two friends who had the chance to be something else" Lacey stated, her heart sinking at her own words. "I just want to thank everyone for their kind words, my friends and family for helping to pick me up when I felt like I couldn't do this anymore. To the parents that are watching this, please, hug your child a little longer tonight, get in contact with them just because you wanted to, not because you had to" Lacey whispered, as she used the sleeve of her jumper to wipe her face once more. "Life is too short to not love somebody, because you never know when it is they will not be here anymore" Lacey mumbled, the truth in her words. "Thank you all" Lacey finished, as she clicked the camera off, taking a deep breath, as she shook her head, uploading the video her Instagram, and watching as in minutes it was being shared all over Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, sighing to herself at how powerful social media in fact was.

Lacey stood up from her spot in the living room, walking over to the sofa, and picking up the items she had laid out on the sofa, her pregnancy test, as well as her first and last scan, sighing to herself at how perfect the baby had looked in it, before turning her head and running a hand over the baby grow that she had brought even when everyone had given her a million reasons to not buy it, the wording on it saying 'daddy's favourite player' with a football at the bottom of the wording, Lacey wiping a tear away from her eyes again, the same action she had been doing all morning. Lacey composed herself, and placed all the items into a box she had found, something to be able to look at in times she needed it, but a place for her to keep her emotions for now, just so that she could try and continue with life.

This woman is the strongest person I know right now, we didn't have to share the story, we chose to, all I want to say at this moment in time is thank you, and that's directed towards Lace, thank you for giving me the opportunity to experience this with you. I'll be forever thankful for our footballer in the sky

"Lace?" Masons voice called out, as he let himself into her apartment with the key he had taken from the side, he didn't mean to just take it, but he knew it was the one place he wanted to be at the moment. "Yeah?" Lace mumbled, coming out of the kitchen with flour smudged across her cheek, Mason laughing, for the first time since his heart had broken. "I'm not asking" Mason laughed, as Lacey shook her head. "Yeah, don't ask" she mumbled, as she walked back into the kitchen, Mason following, trying to dodge the flour that was all over the floor. "It exploded" Lacey mumbled. "Or you dropped it" Mason smirked, as Lacey rolled her eyes, picking up a pile of flour in her hand, throwing it at Mason, who stood there like a champion and took it, his face disappearing in white, as it coated his hair. "That was totally unfair" Mason mumbled, as he walked over to Lacey, covered in the flour that was still falling from his hair as he walked. "No, no, no" Lacey mumbled, as she backed herself in the corner. "Payback" Mason smirked, as he engulfed Lacey in a hug, both of them laughing for the first time in what felt like a while.
