Declan, Jack, Ben, Sasha and Lauren all crowded around the front of the stage, adamant they weren't moving for anybody, despite the constant pushing from the crowd. Lacey's friends couldn't believe how many people had rocked up to see her perform, they knew she was talented and known in America, but they couldn't half wonder if the reason why she was popular here was because of Mason.
Dani and Callum stood backstage, uttering good looks to Lacey as she prepared herself for her first actual performance since being back from LA.
Declan couldn't help but kick himself, thinking it was silly that Mason would even turn up, he was sure the tickets he had given him would be in his car somewhere, the reality that Mason and Lacey being friends might never happen.
The crowd erupted into screaming as Lacey appeared on the stage, waving down at her friends in the front row. "Gosh, London your full" Lacey laughed into the microphone, as she smiled at the crowd. "Yo, can we get the lights up I wanna see everyone" Lacey smiled, as the house lights began to light up, the crowd and how full it was becoming clear to Lacey, the nerves re-setting in her system. "Aha, well hello London, it feels good to be here" Lacey smiled, as the room continued to clap and scream for her. "And because I'm back here, in the place I care about to much, it only feels right to play you guys a song that no one has heard yet" Lacey laughed, as she placed the microphone on the stand, taking a sip of water. "This song was one of the first ones I wanted to release, but I kept pushing it back and back, and it feels only right to sing it here for the first time, this is called 'Out Of Touch' and I really hope you like it" Lacey smiled, signalling for the house lights to go back down with her hand, looking to the wings quickly to see Dani and Callum smiling at her, as the music began to play.
Woke up on the wrong side of you this morning, I said somethings last night in the heat of the moment, you always forgive, how could I forget, you've been in my bed when I need somebody, yeah I put you through some things but at least I ain't boring
Lacey laughed as she sang, the crowd still cheering back at her. As Lacey looked around the crowd, holding out her arms, as if this song was for them, for her fans and friends who kept her going through everything, she couldn't help but catch the brown eyes she had secretly wished were there.
Lacey finished the chorus, moving the microphone form the stand and crouching down to her friends, singing to them as they danced and laughed with her.
You love me when I'm low, when I'm down in the basement, don't give me up when I test your patience, you always forgive, how could I forget, you don't run away when I'm acting ugly, you never sugarcoat and that's why you're the greatest
For a brief moment, it felt like it was just Lacey and Mason in the room, Lacey singing at him, this song was for him, it was always about him. Like it didn't matter who else was in the room as he stood with his arms crossed, smiling at her. He was stood by the small bar in the corner of the room, away from the group of friends who he usually stood with.
Declan couldn't help but scan the room one last time, hoping to see that his best friend had turned up to support their friend, despite the past that they shared, and by chance he caught Masons eyes staring at Lacey, smiling at her, as Declan felt like the world was slowly becoming right again, until he noticed Morgan stood with her arm around Mason, who wasn't playing any attention to his girlfriend, his gaze firmly placed Lacey watching her on stage.
And I'm trying not to push you too much, yeah I'm trying, but it's not good enough Ive been on one, and I can't keep on lying to myself Who's gonna tell me I'm out of touch, when the lights come on and I'm still fucked up, It's true, I hope it's you
As Lacey sang, the house lights come back on and she was able to see the sight that Declan had saw, sighing to herself briefly, before belting out the final chorus of the song, adding in key changes encouraging the crowd to sing along to the song that she was singing, the crowd loving the atmosphere.
As Lacey continued to sing the final chorus, her eyes stayed firmly placed on Mason, despite Morgan trying to get his attention, his eyes stayed on Lacey's, a connection they had made during the song that wasn't able to be broken during the song, but was broken as the song ended, Lacey clapping the crowd, asking them if they was having a good time, as the music to the next song began to play. "Let's go find the others" Mason mumbled, as he grabbed Morgan's hand, pulling her through the crowd gently to the front where everyone else was. "Oh Mase you made it" Lauren smiled. "Hey Morgan" she continued, as Morgan did an awkward wave, before putting her arms around Mason waist, resting into him, as he smiled at Declan. "She's great ain't she" Jack smiled, as he danced around to the song she was now singing, Lacey's eyes landing on Jack and laughing at him, before continuing her singing. "I just don't get why you'd want to come and see your ex-girlfriend sing" Morgan mumbled, as Sasha rolled her eyes, opening her mouth to say something, before Jack wrapped his arms around her waist, swaying her to the music, in his own way, telling her to leave it as this wasn't the time or the place, as the group of friends enjoyed Lacey's singing.
