Weeks later, the car we were in pulled to a stop outside of Malfoy Manor. Draco got the door for me and helped me out of the car while I held Cordelia.
Despite all the snow being gone and the season transferring from Winter to Spring, Malfoy Manor still looked glum. It was such a gorgeous home, but the weather surrounding it made it so unwelcoming. It was so cloudy, cold, and rainy all the time. The fog that surrounded the home gave it an eerie feeling and even made the garden look dark. Then again, it does totally fit Voldemort's vibe. It makes me wonder if the manor looked so eerie before Voldemort claimed it as his headquarters.
"Darling," Draco spoke, making me realize that I had just been standing there while our parents were already well inside.
I took Draco's outstretched hand and followed him into the manor. "Everything alright?" he asked as we stepped inside and handed our coats to the house elves.
"Mhm," I hummed as we walked to the nursery.
He didn't seem very convinced, but I wasn't exactly lying either. It's just hard being so restricted in life, like I can't even go outside without a Death Eater being nearby to make sure I don't get kidnapped.
"Well," he said, "if it makes you feel any better, Pansy and Blaise will be here tomorrow."
"Good. I need some new people to talk to," I said as I turned back to him after putting Cordi to rest in her crib.
"What? Am I not good enough for you?" Draco asked, sounding rather mad.
I giggled. "Only joking, my love."
"Are you sure about that?" he asked, his arms on either side of me so I was trapped between him and the crib.
"Of course. I couldn't ask for anyone better to be isolated with."
"Good," he responded as he placed a gentle kiss on my lips.
"I love you," I said after he pulled away and kissed him once more.
He rested his forehead on mine and I shut my eyes while I enjoyed the moment, but it was over as quick as it started.
A loud commotion had come from downstairs, making Draco and me jump away from each other. "What's going on?" I mumbled.
He shrugged and checked on Cordi who was sound asleep. "We should probably go down there though."
And right as he said that, my mother walked into the room, her face still and emotionless, telling me something was wrong. I know my mother far too well. When something is up, she always manages to smother it by hiding her emotions, which is exactly how I can tell.
"Mother, what's going on?" I asked.
"Come downstairs," she said flatly.
I shared a glance with Draco, a rather worried one; it was clear something was up.
And so, we followed Mother downstairs. She led us into a big, open room. Bellatrix, and our parents were in there alongside the Snatchers. However, three other people were in there.
Getting prisoners is so common, I barely would have thought anything of it, but that was until I realized it was the Golden Trio that stood before us. Although Harry, his face was swollen, making him nearly unrecognizable.
"Blair, Draco, come here," said Lucius, waving us over to where he stood in front of Potter. So, we made our way over to Lucius very slowly. "Do you know who this is?" he asked.
I looked at Draco who was just staring at Potter. I knew he also recognized him.
"Blair, don't look at Draco, tell us if that's Potter!" my father spat as he, Bellatrix, and Lucius all crowded around us to get a look at Harry themselves.
