I was walking to my restaurant when someone bumps into me.
"I'm so sorry, my daughters a little hyper today, I hope I didn't hurt you."
I swear I was about to yell at her, but she looked up and I was greeted with the most beautiful pair of eyes I've ever seen. I lost my words so I laughed.
"I'm okay no worries, go get this little one some ice cream she's begging for"
That's the first thing that came out of my mouth. She laughed back. That laugh, I know that laugh, It's a laugh I loved many years ago, Her laugh. Her laugh was always so beautiful I could recognize it anywhere. I've longed to hear that laugh again. But she moved on now, look at her. She has a daughter now too. I can't help but wonder, Is she my daughter too?
So many thoughts go through my head in a spur. She nodded at me, picked up her daughter and left. Does she recognize me? Just pretend you never saw her. She's dead to me now, She has been for years, It should stay like that and it will.
