I close my eyes tight, ready for the pain to come but it never did. I look up and ajax stands there wide eyed, what the hell happened?
I look around and I see it.
Leo happened,
He saved my life,
But this is gonna be a lot of paperwork.
There's a knife plunged into Ajax's back. He falls to the ground, dead.
"Shit, Leo you saved my life. Thank you."
"All in a days work boss, I can't believe you admitted defeat, that's something you never do. Your way to strong for that."
"Thanks Leo, means a lot but if you don't mind, don't tell anyone about that alright? It stays between you and me, and I guess Ej if you want to tell her."
"Are you crazy, of course I'm going to tell her. Mason you risked your life for my best friend. She deserves to know."
"Whatever you want Lee."
Shit. All this talk and I forgot to get Ej. "Shit Leo. Ej, She's across the room"

I run as best as I can to her. She's still passed out.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
I lift her on my lap and in my arms. God fucking dammit. Her wrists are bleeding, her ankles are bleeding, and she has cuts and bruises all over her face.
I check for her pulse, It's still there.
If anything happens to Ej i swear to god.
"Ej. Ej stay with me ok? We're going home."
I radio the other teams, it needs to be clear for us to leave.
"All crew, I repeat all crew, is it clear?"
I get three radios back.
"All clear boss, we're ready to go."
"Great, I have an adult female, in possible concussion, severely bleeding from wrists and ankles, there's a few blows to the head and face. I need assistance ready at headquarters by the time we get back. Clear?"
Stay with me Ej, I couldn't handle it if you left me again.
We get to headquarters and I pick up Ej (bridal style) and take her into the "hospital wing" as we call it. I have my own private doctors and surgeons. I've always needed them, my team has always needed them.
Sometimes missions don't go as planned and it's a lot of work to go to the hospital and get questioned by the government.
At that point i found highly trained doctors, paid them more than any job they could find and they've turned into family.
I run towards my doctors who have a stretcher ready for ej.
"Rohan, you have to save her please, I'm begging you."
"Mason, keep it together. We'll try our best I promise."
Holy shit. All I can do now is wait, I'm not used to things being out of my control.
~30 minutes later~
Rohan comes out of the room, please give me good news.
"She has a few severe injuries, none too life threatening but, she's slipped in and out of consciousness a few times during the kidnapping and we can't tell if she'll wake up or not. I'm really sorry Mason but if she doesn't wake up by tomorrow morning she can go into a coma."
Rohan walks back into the room, while I stand I'm shock of what he just told me.
A coma.
No, no way.
She can't go into a coma.
She can't leave like that.
What am I supposed to tell lily, I wouldn't be able to live like that, no way.
It's been a week since I've met everleigh again and I already can't live without her, I don't know how I did before but it's not possible now.
Not again.
Hours go by and I do is wait.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
I'm tired of waiting, I want my ej back.
Jax is still taking care of the kids, I went to go check on them and get myself some water. By the time I'm walking back to the room doctors are running around, they look stressed.
What happened.
I barely grab ahold of Rohan who's also in a rush,
"Rohan, what's wrong what happened."
"I don't know, everleigh's heart is slowly stopping at this point she's going to flatline in about 25 minutes."
What.
No, no way.
I try to grab Rohan for more questions but he speeds away worried.
This can't happen.
I look up.
I never pray but, today's a different situation.
Dear god,
I never come to you to ask for anything but today, today is a day I need you the most. Everleigh needs you. I wouldn't ever live with myself if something happened to Everleigh, please accept this one request of mine. I promise I'll never ask you for anything ever again.

I run into ej's room and doctors are running around everywhere. I can hear rohan yelling in my ear,
"SOMEONE GET THE INJECTION, WE'RE LOSING HER."

I watchin shock, unable to help in any way or shape.
A minute goes by and everyone watches as the monitor flatlines.
