Chapter 19: guilt

~His pov~

I go to get lily, she must be coming out of daycare right now. I picked her up and once I got home I got Jax to take care of her. I know Jax is good with kids, he's had his niece and nephews over a few times, he'll take good care of lily. I go to Leo and get some information on what's going on in our head room, it's a pretty big room, our hackers and information team stay here a lot of the time when we have important cases to get done. This is the most important one.

"Leo, what's the info? Is the team ready?"

Leo looks at me, I can tell he's worried but he looked a tiny bit relieved to see me. I always knew him and ej were great friends, I got insecure about that once and fought with her. It was stupid.

"Yeah the teams ready they're about to leave right now."

"Alright, I'm going with them. Keep updating me on Ajax's location. We need to find ej."

He looked at me like he wanted to say something.

"Leo? Something to say?"

"Can I go with you too boss?"

"Look I know your worried but I need you here,  I promise she'll be safe you'll see her asap ok? I'm here and your the best man here, i need you to stay ok?"

"Alright boss."

I need my whole team strong for this.

I grab my g_ns and me and the team head out to look for eve. Once we get to the forest me and my team run out and start searching. We all have our safety gear on and g_ns out ready for anything. The team spreads out and we look for any clue of Ej.

I need to find her.

The whole team splits up and we go onto different trails. I find this abandoned looking trail and I go there. As I'm walking farther into the trail I hear a stick crack behind me, I spin around and there's no one there. What the fuck. My phone starts ringing, shit its gotta be Leo. I quickly answer him.

"Leo what's the news, did you find him?"

"Yes boss, we've tracked him down.

"Great, im coming back, there's nothing here so far hinting to where everleigh is."

"all right boss"

I go back and get the team together.

"Boss we found a mug with her name on it and a picnic basket."

Ej's mug.

She loved that mug with her heart.

I remember I almost broke it once, she was seconds away from crying when that happened. Her dad got her that mug, he passed after we started dating. Ej was so depressed after that, she loved her dad more than anything or anyone. Mr. jones was a sweet man, better dad than I ever had. Mrs. jones on the other hand, the spawn of Satan. She made both of their lives hell with the amount of abuse towards them.

I shake those thoughts out of my head.

"Take them back to the house, they're her belongings."

"Yes boss"

The team drives back home and Jax is playing with lily and I think one of his nephews, he must've invited him over so lily had someone her age to play with. he nods at me and I do the same back. There's still so much to do. I go to meet Leo in the head room again.

"what's the info?"

"we found his "headquarters" as they call it, it's far northeast about a couple miles away, not too far though."

"Alright, grab your gear guys! We're going northeast to look for Everleigh. Leo, your coming too don't worry. Let's head out"

Leo is one of my best fighters along with Jax but I need Jax to stay here, I've only started training again this week so Leo is my best shot at winning this thing. Plus it's a fucking gang bro, like they can't be that hella trained anyways.

We head out northeast and find his headquarters. We parked far so no one notices we're here.

"Alright."

I point to different people in our teams.

"you third are going to the back half, you third on the left side, and the other third, you guys, are on the right side. Leo, James, and Arthur, your with me, we are going from the front. I need everyone ready for anything, be prepared and be safe alright guys?"

"Alright boss!"
They all say in unison.

We head to the house and I'm actually surprised. This house is pretty big for a so called "gang leader." How does he afford this.

~ Everleigh's pov~

I wake up for the second time. It's been hours since I've been screaming and crying, I passed out twice because of that. I'm so tired. My wrists are bleeding and ache so much.

I don't know what to do at this point.

Maybe I should just die.

"Don't worry" a voice startles me. It sounds like ajax.

"I'll bring lily here. Just tell me where she is."
