Chapter 7

Ki and Tiffany are sitting there looking blankly at the TV.

"Wanna study?" I ask him "You can stay here tonight,we'll drive back in a little bit to get your stuff then order Pizza."
"Sounds good. Want to join us Tif?"

She just faces away.

"I'll take that as a yes I'd love it." He mutters "What are we revising anyway?"
"Chemistry. I know it's neither of our strong points."
"Well obviously.. No one in the real world has ever asked me what a molecule is."
"Well the exam will ask you plenty,so we're doing it."
"Fine then Einstein. Let's drive back and get my stuff first."
"Okay. Tiffany come on."

She walks with us and gets into the back seat of the car,where she always sits. Looking at the window as we drive. Only for a little while until we reach Ki's house,he gets out and we wait in silence.

"You're staying in the room with us tonight." I say,not even looking at her "I'm not letting you out of my sight. Got it? Good."

She gets out a book from the nets on the back of the driver and passenger seat and begins to read,signalling to me that she really doesn't care.

"Nice." I mutter,rolling my eyes then seeing Ki who jumps into the car and throws his bag to the pack,careful not to hit Tiffany.

"Just make sure all those doors are locked tonight Tom."
"I did."
"Well how was she taken then?" He turns to Tiffany "Just tell us that.. How did they take you?"

Of course she doesn't say anything.

"Fuck sakes that's it." I stop the car at a halt then turn round to her "JUST TELL ME THIS IS GETTING ON MY NERVES. TELL ME NOW OR I'LL SNAP YOU IN HALF."

Ki sucks in a laugh,I just realise how stupid I sound. Tiffany looks at me,biting her lip,raising her eyebrows at me.

"You need to try harder at the act buddy." Ki laughs and turns to face her,she just stares at him blankly as he breaks out into an amused smile. "Shit,Tiffany. Lighten up. At least cry a little."

He swaps places with me and I just sit there,scraping my hair back then folding my arms into my chest until we get home and we all walk back inside. I make sure the door is firmly locked behind me then walk into the living room.

"Why don't we have a party?" Ki suggests.
"We're not having a party. " I object.
"Come on. Don't be a wimp!"
"No."
"Please."
"The answer is no."
"Fine,I just need to use the loo."
"Okay."

He walks away and I sit on the floor,my back resting against the sofa,still utterly stressed out and tired. I notice Tiffany pacing across the room and finding the letter mum and dad left for us. She then pulls out a lighter from her pocket,gently pitches the top of the paper and sets fire to the bottom as it burns and snivels into nothing.

That's when I hear a knock at the door,I walk to it and answer,Olivia walks through,she's wearing an awfully fancy dress with two large bottles of Coke and Fanta in her hands which she gives to me.

"Um.. Did Tiffany invite you?"
"No,Ki did."
"What?"
"For the party tonight."
"You what!?"
"The party,the whole school got the email."
