Chapter 19

"TIFF!" I yell as she runs away from me,faster and faster until we reach a fence,she climbs over to come across a train track. Empty of close.

"Get off now." I say.
"No."
"Tiffany move."
"I did this..." She cries "I turned into this selfish,cold bitch. I hurt you,then you hurt Olivia,then she tried to help me but I rejected that help then Ki got hit by that car and it all started with me! I don't get to know what will happen,why it happened or what I did right or wrong. Not now. I have to live with that,you do too."

She doesn't say anything else just watches as a train honks in the distance,I try grabbing her but she stays firmly planted on the ground. But just as she collapses to the floor on the tracks and I yank her away just as he train zooms past so she lies there unconscious in my arms. I feel myself shake as I pull out my phone then dial Olivia's number.

"Hello?" She says.
"I need your help."
"Thomas.."
"Please."
"Where are you?"
"Train tracks.. Near this field."
"Can you be more exact,I don't understand."
"Tiffany..."
"Right."

I sit there with Tiffany's trembling body,eyes closed,I just sit there,cool wind cutting me up.

"Thomas?" Olivia climbs over the gate then runs to Tiffany's side "What happened to her?"
"I don't know.."
"She's okay.. It's okay." She strokes her brown hair.
"She just stood there on the tracks,like she wished she could disappear."
"I know."
"You knew?"
"Yes."
"You knew she was low all this time and you never told anyone?"
"She didn't want me too!"
"Then what did she want?"
"She never told me Thomas!"
"She could've died tonight."
"She could've died any night. Do you know how hard I'm fighting to keep her in this world. You have no fucking idea!"
"Of course I do. I'm her brother!"
"You've been here 3 weeks,I've been here years!"
"I know that!"
"Stop acting like you don't care,because I know you do."
"What do we do then?"
"Take her to Hospital. It's not far away."
"Right."

We both carry her into the waiting room and they take her away so we just sit there..

"You should go home." Olivia says "Your exam."
"I've got other things to deal with."
"She'll be okay." Her hand squeezes onto mine.
"First Ki.. Then her."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be... Do you want some water?"
"No I'm fine.. How long has it been?"
"A few hours."
As a nurse walk up to us.

"You're Thomas Sangster,brother of Tiffany Sangster?"
"Yes."
"She's suffered deep critical shock,she's a little panicked at the moment,we want to keep her here for a few weeks,in a ward."
"Can I see her?"
"She's asleep now,we've moved her to another building. Why don't you kids go home,get some rest?"

So I'm forced to walk away and back home,Olivia walks me home. I don't talk,we've got a missed call from mum and dad but I ignore it. Why bother?

Hiding in a textbook couldn't cut it this time..
