Chapter 15

"What's up?" Ki asks,coming down the stairs.
"She hates me."
"No she doesn't."
"This all my fault."
"Is there anything I can do?"
"Just leave me alone."
"Tom.."
"No,I can't handle this right now."
"What,me being your friend?"
"Yeah. Ki you're killing me."
"How?"
"First,you force me to have a party which turns into a bloody disaster. Second,you deprive me from studying for these exams."
"Fine."

He storms out slamming the door behind him,then a few seconds later Tiffany comes parading down the stairs.

"Where are you going?"
"Out."
"I don't think so."

I shove her away from the door.

"Get our hands off me Thomas."
"No."
"Would you calm down?"
"I can't."

I punch the wall then yell out as pain shoots through me.

"Because that helps." She snorts.
"I thought you hated me."
"Of course I do."
"Then what are you doing?"
"Knocking some sense into you."
"Like what?" I slump down on the stairs and she sits next to me.
"People fuck you up Tom."
"I figured that."
"That's all you need to know in life."
"Everything's so hard in this life."
"I know. I constantly had the urge to run away,from everyone and everything."
"It's funny..."
"What?"
"You were mad at me now we're talking like best friends."
"I do trust you."

As I feel a head softly fall onto my shoulder I see that she's fallen asleep. I scoop her up and carry her into her room,then lie her under the sheets,leaning down and watching her sleep for a few seconds. Until I walk out the room and back into mine. I didn't want to talk to Ki,I just needed to study until I let my eyes close..

Once I wake up I see it's Sunday,one more day until my first exam,I've got no messages,so I walk down to see Tiffany eating breakfast.

"You okay?" I ask her.
"All right."
"How's Ki?"
"He's fine... Why?"
"Just wondering."
"You going out today?"
"No."
"Please don't bother me,I'll be studying all day."
"Sure. Oh and here."

She pulls out the textbooks,all fixed with Sellotape. Then she pulls out a rather large package and presses it into my arms which I open to see all those textbooks in perfect quality.

"Where did you get these Tiff?"
"I ordered them. It's to say sorry."
"You're forgiven."
"Are you going to call Livy today?"
"Probably. Why?"
"Just wondering.. Don't hurt her."
"I'm sure she's had a boyfriend before."
"Yeah.. Just this Dylan and this Tyler guy,that doesn't even matter."
"Since when were you so protective over her?"
"She's my best friend Tom."
"Do you trust her like you trust me?"
"Of course."
"I'll see you soon. Thanks again for the books."
"That's okay."

Then out of nowhere she smiles,and I know this time it's not fake,it's not sarcasm. It's real,of happiness and love.
