Chapter 25

"Tiffany!" Ki yells into the streets.
"Forget it." I lean against the bonnet of the car "She's dead."
"That doesn't mean to stop looking!" Olivia scoffs.
"Just let her be!" I yell at her "It's her choice what she wants to do. And we shouldn't be the ones to stop her."
"What so you're saying if she throws herself off a bridge you wouldn't care?"
"Of course I would,but it's her choice. It's all our choices. We choose wether to live or to die and with this awful life I can't half but blame her!"
"What do you mean?"
"We don't belong.. Both of us. We're all so broken and neglected.. Both of you will never know what pain feels like. But if you want to look for her that's fine,but tell her I'm sorry."

I get in the car,they're just standing outside as I drive off. Letting the tears fall from my eyes,have I messed this all up?

I drive home to a call from Ki which I ignore,I have nothing to say to him,not until all these text alerts flash down so I check to see..

We've found her

I immediately call him and his voice immediately breaks through.

"Tom?"
"Where.. Where did you find her?"
"Train tracks."
"Have you got her?"
"Yeah. Come get us,we're in the park."
"Okay."

I drive as quick as I can to them as I pull out to see Tiffany unconscious in Ki's arms.

"Oh my God!"
"She's freezing."
"Get her in the car."

We lock the doors and I turn the heating up,I'm sweating. We all are,except Tiffany,her eyes are open but she lies there still.

"What happened?" I ask "Tiffany?"
"I don't know.." She whispers "They just took us." She pulls up her shirt to reveal a oozing red scar.
"Who did that?"
"They hurt me. And I don't know why."
"Does it still sting?"
"Not really. Olivia got me some ice."
"It isn't tucking safe if you're just gonna go missing all the time!"
"How can I help it?"
"We're gonna have to move."
"We can't.." She says,curling into Ki's embrace "Mum.. And dad."
"They won't care."
"Yeah but they'll find out,then they'll find us."
"Look Tiff I don't know what else to do!"

She just looks into my eyes,not saying anything.

"If I go missing again,don't look for me."
"And why would I do that?"
"Because I don't matter. None of this does."
"Of course you do."

She lies there as her eyes gently close.

"What am I meant to do?" I ask Ki.
"Well when do your parents come back?"
"About seventeen or sixteen days."
"They won't harm you or her if they're there."
"They don't care, they ain't got a clue!"
"Well you can't just let her die."
"Yes. I know that. Look,let's just go home and we'll figure everything out there."
