"[Y/N]?!"
"Huh?" Luffy turned to Nami, completely confused. "You know this guy, Nami?"
"Know him..?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You watched her get thrown in the cell with you, she didn't let it happen without a fight though, you admired that. Stealing from pirates often is dangerous so one should be prepared to defend yourself. You knew full well after getting... caught by them.
Once the guard left, after saying a few rude comments to her, you glanced over at her. She had short ginger hair, and these big brown eyes that were already scanning over the entire cell. You wondered if she was claustrophobic, but you dismissed the thought since her face was calmer than one afraid of tight spaces.
"I'm guessing this isn't your first you've been captured by pirates?" you guessed, staring a bit of small talk. You only got an annoyed grunt in response. "I already tried finding a fast way out, it's not going to work."
"Oh yeah, how do you know, mister smart guy?" She questioned turning to you and crossing her arms.
"My name's [Y/n]," you informed her, putting on a serious yet genuine expression to show you weren't going to mess with her. "I've been here for a week, I've tried the easy way out already but it bust. I did start calculating a new escape plan but I have to wait one more day to make it work. I can take you with me if you want to get out of here."
"Yeah right, how can I know you won't just leave me behind or backstab me later?" She asked, her wary eyes narrowing at you.
"I guess you'll just have to trust me," you shrugged.
"My name's Nami."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Wait, can you hand me that white tarp?" you whispered to Nami, stopping in front of a particular door.
"What- why?"
"I came here for their treasure, and I'm not leaving without something." You knelt down and began to pick the lock. "You can go on ahead, whether you wait for me or leave in your own row bo-"
"Like hell I'm letting you be the only one leaving with treasure!" Nami told you, grabbing two tarps.
You smirked at her words, she was just your type.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"They're going to be happy when they see this treasure."
"Who's they?" Nami inquired, rather curious who you're referring to.
"My siblings," you replied, gazing at the sea. "Our parents died, and our town doesn't offer work to children. I had to provide for them somehow so I started stealing from pirates... even when I became old enough to work, no one would hire a thief like me, despite me only ever taking from pirates."
"I know how you feel..." Nami told you. Glancing at her, you saw her holding her left shoulder while looking down. "My mother died... and I needed to help my... my family."
"Heh, I'm glad I help someone like you out instead of some bandit." You smiled, nudging her to make light of the situation.
"Me too... wanna work again sometime?" she asked.
"Sure."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Woah! Hey! Over here, dumbasses!" You shouted at the pirates to draw their attention away from Nami.
"Get him, men!" Their captain ordered, pointing his sword at you.
'Thank you' Nami mouthed to you before she scurried away with the treasure.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm over here, meatheads!" Nami taunted the angry pirates, sticking her tongue out.
They charged towards her as you winked at her and tipped toed to where the rowboats were held.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Nami!" You cried when one of the men grabbed her by the collar of her shirt. You grabbed a sword and swung at the pirate. "Let her go!"
You slashed the man's side and he let go of her, yelping in pain and dropping his other weapon. Nami rushed to you, tugging your arm to run with her, and you both fled the scene with only a small portion of the treasure.
"Why did you come back for me?" Nami asked gazing down at her hands after the loot was split evenly.
"Why wouldn't I?"
"We just steal treasure together... why would you risk your life to get me when you could've gotten away with all the treasure?"
"I don't like the thought of you being capture..." you admitted to her, scratching the back of your neck. "Besides, you probably would've done the same, I trust you."
But Nami was unsure if would.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Take that you scum!" one of the pirates mocked you as they kept beating you.
"Hey!"
The pirates turned to see Nami, standing there. No... what was she doing here? She should've ran.
"Uh- I saw some man sailing away on your rowboat," Nami said and pointed in the direction of the docks.
"Ah! That was our way back to the ship!"
The pirates dashed away from the scene to try and catch their ride. Nami rushed over to your side, kneeling down, worry and distress written on her face. She checked your bruises and cuts to see if there were any fatal injuries.
"Are you okay? I'm sorry I didn't come sooner I-" Nami gasped when you hugged her tightly.
"What were you thinking?!" You held her closer, your body screamed at you but you ignored their cries. "They could've gone after you..."
"I..." Nami's eyes began to water. "I didn't want to leave you behind."
Tears fell, and both of you would've stayed like that but you knew you had to move.
"Please... don't put yourself in danger next time," you begged her, resting your chin on her shoulder.
"As long as you're not in danger..."
"Alright..."
You needed to make sure this never happened again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'll cut you a deal," the pirate captain offered, standing on the outside of the cell. He opened the latch for food and slid in two revolvers. "I'll let one of you go if you shoot the other."
"No way!" Nami shouted at the pirate, completely against the idea of even aiming a gun at you.
"It's either that or I kill you both!" The captain stated. "And let me tell you girlie, it'll be a slow and painful death."
"Guess we have no choice then," you calmly say, picking up one of the guns, catching Nami off guard.
"You... You can't be serious!" Nami yelled, feeling the press of a ghost knife to her back.
"I am..." You aimed the gun at her.
"It's either him or you now, sweetheart," the pirate commented, amused by this.
"No..." Nami eyes were wide, and her body was shaking.
"Do you trust me?" You asked her with a stoic face, but in your eyes, it told her enough that everything was going to be alright.
"Yes..."
"Good." You brought the revolver to the side of your head and pulled the trigger.
Sound disappeared from the world as Nami saw you drop on your side to the floor, a large hole in the side of your head. With the amount of blood leaking out, it was common sense to know you were dead. Nami felt her heart drop and she was too stunned to even process what just happened.
She couldn't believe you were gone...

"I thought he was dead..."
