Day 12 - It'll Be Fun They Said (Usopp x Reader)

"This is the last horror movie you make me watch!" Usopp stated and sat down on the couch, his arms folded.

"Come on, Usopp." You nudged his side with a teasing smirk. "You know you love watching these movies with me."

Usopp muttered something under his breath that you couldn't quite catch but you thought it was probably him asking himself how he got himself mixed up in this. Ignoring it, you hit play on the remote and the movie began, or so you thought. An option appeared on the screen like something out of a video game.

"That's weird," Usopp commented. "I thought this was a movie made to watch."

"It's supposed to be," you told him, picking up the DVD case and checking the back. "I mean it was in the movie section at the pawnshop."

"You got this from some old, creepy, pawnshop?!"

"No- don't you buy stuff from pawnshops?" You countered, raising a brow.

"In my defence, I don't buy anything creepy or horror-like from there."

"Maybe I have been showing you too many horror movies," you mumbled to yourself. You sat back on the couch and grabbed the remote. "You know, let's just see where this takes us. It'll be fun."

Usopp was going to protest but when he saw your smile, he held back his tongue. He couldn't say no to that bright smile. "Alright, fine."

You clicked on the option and the screen changed. A monster flashed across the tv as a jumpscare, and it worked on Usopp. You flinched slightly, for some reason you were unsettled by the creature despite not really having any fear when it comes to horror movies. Brushing off the feeling, you turned to Usopp.

"Relax Usopp, it's just a jumpscare," you reassured him. "It's not like the thing is crawling out of the tv an- ah!"

You felt claws digging into your shoulder, bringing you a sharp rush of pain. You sucked in your breath, trying not to cry in pain. You turned to look behind you, wondering why you received pain, but what you saw made you wish to crawl into a hole where no one would be able to reach you. The monster who had only moments before was in the tv jump scaring the both of you, is now towering over you with it's claws deep into your flesh.

"Nice... costume..." you uttered, in denial that this was the monster from the screen. Those were your final words.
