A loud roar emitted from the back and the VKs warned the prince of hearts from the beast's sudden attacks.
The beast was too wild and went off raging at Zevan who's now on the ground unable to move his whole body as he was being pushed earlier.
"Don't hurt him!" Zevan was already struggling from the beast's claws slashing him sideways but still managed to stop Hayes from doing anything that could hurt them both.
Hayes was left confused when his fellow crewmate addressed the beast as 'him' so realization hits him that the beast was the young king itself.
It was Ben in his beast form, he just appeared out of nowhere and attacked the VK from the back that was unnoticeable to everyone else who was there.
"Get him off! It's Ben!" Zevan yelled throughout his struggles of getting Ben away from him.
The beast raged too much that he had hit the side of Zevan's face and his shoulders with it's sharp claws while crimson blood's now dripping out of it.
The prince groaned in pain and couldn't handle the situation anymore that his eyes glowed in the shades of dark blue.
Zevan gathered the strength left in his body and kicked the mongrel in his chest making him flew back farther from them.
"He's not stopping, it feels like he wanted me dead" Zevan held his wounded shoulder and the others went to him to help him up.
"Distract him, I think he's after you" Heath said and ordered his crew to distract the wild mongrel on the loose before he could get back at the wounded prince of hearts.
"He must've been under some kind of spell that made him transform into a beast and raged out like that but why me" Zevan stood up backing from the sight of the beast who's eyeing him deeply from afar.
"It's probably Uma controlling him don't you think? " Carlos said helping the older VK.
Out of any VKs there Carlos was the smartest thinking through things and ended up being right.
" I only know one thing Uma always wanted" Mal shook her head in disbelief.
She went to Zevan and tried casting a spell for his wounds but the latter stopped her telling her that she must save it for later when the real fight awaits them.
"Uma always wanted to rule the isle and if she's the one controlling him then she really wanted you gone" Mal stated knowing the fact that Zevan is now the ruler of the isle.
Uma probably wanted the position to herself and she wants the current ruler's existence begone.
Evie and Jay applied pressure on the wounded prince's shoulder so that the bleeding would stop.
" I can't use my powers on him, it's uncontrollable and I don't want to hurt him further" they gave him a frustrated look silently waiting for a plan while Scott and Zevon was distracting Ben.
