Amber made sure she explained the secret she and William had been keeping after everyone agreed to continue on with the mystery.

Eddie nodded, taking it all in.

After a few moments, the others were prepared to get back into their groups and find the next pieces to the tablet. Jerome, Amber, and Alfie's group were the first to leave, reading their riddle and stepping through the portal. Fabian grabbed a riddle for him, Patricia, and Joy and read it aloud:

"Here where the blade rests,
That killed the last great Pharaoh,
Amongst his death,
Amongst everyone's sorrow,
Brought to his end by his wife and son,
Maybe he could be avenged by yet another one."

Fabian and Joy stepped through, but Patricia stayed back for just a moment and faced towards Eddie who was sitting on the couch.

"So, you're going into the past alone?"

"Yeah," Eddie nodded. "I might just take a break today and sit this one out."

"Ok. As long as you don't give up on us entirely."

"Yeah. See you when you get back." Eddie feigned a smile, and Patricia stepped through the portal.

~~~~~
Patricia, Fabian, and Joy landed in an underground chamber with stone walls with painted artwork all over them. The room they were in was practically empty.
"Where are we, Fabian?" Joy asked.
"Rameses III's tomb. He was the last great Pharaoh over Egypt. His wife and son hired an assassin to kill him, and the people hoped one of his other nine sons would avenge his death."
"Fabian, sometimes all the things you know make me worry about you," Patricia said.
"What?"
"Nevermind."
Leading off from the room were descending stairs in between pillars on each side. Within the room that those stairs led to was a large sarcophagus and behind it, a sword sitting on a stand.
The three of them went straight towards the sword, making their way down the stairs and around the sarcophagus that held around Rameses's body. The three of them examined the sword upon the stand.
Patricia shrugged and picked up the sword.
"Patricia!" Fabian exclaimed. "That is a delicate, ancient-"
As Fabian was trying to explain why Patricia shouldn't have touched the sword, a hatchet opened up above Joy and dropped down a package which she fuddled in her arms but still caught. Joy unwrapped the string holding it together, noticing it was another piece to the tablet.
"Oh," Fabian expressed, his eyebrows raised.
Patricia smirked at him and put the sword back on the stand.
Alfie was the one who read the riddle for his group:
"Here Isis hid,
Along with her beloved son,
Osiris has been killed,
The war now done,
And the throne taken by Seth,
At least until, Horus brings his death."
"Who would hide in a marsh?!" Amber squealed a few moments after landing in their destination. "Who would hide in a marsh?!"
Jerome, Amber, and Alfie stood in the middle of knee level water and low vegetation. They realized they were standing in the middle of of a marsh, and Amber's heels were in the midst of getting soaked.
"Couldn't Isis have hidden in a mall?!"
"Wait something's crawling in my shoe!" Alfie exclaimed, dancing around to get it out.
"Come on, I'll piggyback back you, Amber," Jerome insisted, allowing Amber to climb on.
"What about me?!" Alfie stared widely at him.
"Man up," Jerome told him.
"Double-standards, much?"
Jerome looked at him as though he were crazy. He just shook his head and began wading through the water. Alfie waded through the water too, crossing his arms and muttering something under his breath.
Jerome's first instinct was to go towards the shed which sat in the marsh, but Alfie stayed out, looking through the water. When Jerome entered the shed, the water was at a lower level, but Amber still wasn't willing to get down from Jerome's back. There was a dresser in the room, but other than that and a makeshift bed, it was bare. Jerome went to the dresser and opened the drawer, not finding the piece they were looking for but rather, something written on the base of the drawer.
It happened to be written in dried blood as well, which had somewhat faded but read:
I will avenge my father's death.
"Not creepy at all," Jerome breathed, as he shut the drawer.
Meanwhile, Alfie was still wading through the water when he spotted something producing a soft glow to the water's surface. He picked up the object, realizing it was what they came for.
"Guys, I found it! I found it!" Alfie yelled.
Jerome came out of the shed, still with Amber on his back. He made his way to Alfie who grinned, obviously proud of his accomplishment.
The portal opened up for them, and Jerome was about to step through until Alfie held him back.
"Step aside. Winners go first," he bragged.
He actually ended up giving a little push rather than just holding him back causing Jerome to tip over, both him and Amber getting soaked.
"Alfie!" they exclaimed at the same time, sitting up.
Alfie quickly stepped through the portal. Jerome and Amber stood up and stepped through as well.
By the time they returned, the others were already there. Patricia, Joy, and Fabian had found their piece, and Jerome, Alfie, and Amber just returned with theirs. Alfie was only soaked up to his knees, but Jerome and Amber were dripping all over.
"What happened?" Joy asked.
Jerome and Amber glared at Alfie while Amber threatened, "I'm going to kill you, Alfie."
"Look at the time," Alfie distracted, his voice raising high. "It's time for me to go." He tossed the piece to the tablet into Jerome's hands and fled out the door.
"I am going to strangle him," Amber growled.
"I'll help you," Jerome insisted.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter, as I always hope you enjoy! If you didn't know, Jerome, Amber, and Alfie ended up going to the Marsh of the Nile Delta, where in Egyptian mythology, Isis hid with her son Horus until Horus could become of age to avenge his father's, Osiris's, death. Considering the fact that Osiris's brother, Horus's uncle, Set(h), sent him to the Land of the Dead. It took like 85 years before Horus killed Set, but you know, he still did it.
Just a mythology fact for you Aristocrats!
