"Wow," Jerome commented, "turns out he was right."
Jerome stole Nina's computer and used it to look up the song he sang earlier after a while of everyone hanging out after stepping back through the portal. They're clothing changed back; they updated William on what happened in the apartment and for the rest of the time, all five of them relaxed in the apartment together.
"Who was right about what?" Alfie asked, currently laying on the floor.
"'If You're Happy and You Know It'-Eddie and I had to sing that at the celebration. Apparently it wasn't invented by that time."
"So what, you guys are like iconic music legends now who actually stole someone else's song but sort of didn't since you technically sang it before him?" Patricia comprehended.
"Precisely," Jerome confirmed.
"Alfie, why are you on the floor?" Amber questioned.
"It's more comfortable than you think," Alfie admitted.
"I hope Eddie and Nina don't keep us waiting too long."

Meanwhile, back in the past, Nina and Eddie followed Sarah and Rufus wherever they were headed. They ended up leaving the actual celebration, extending the distance between them and the lights until they reached the wooded area where Nina and Amber originally landed earlier. The traveled into the woods until stopping at a wooden shed. Rufus opened the door to find stairs leading deep underground.
"I need you two to locate the Book of Thoth down there," Rufus instructed.
"Thoth?" Nina repeated. "What for?"
"We'll explain later; please just get it," Sarah said, feeling angst.
"We're angels, not servants though," Eddie defended.
"My angel who protect me," Sarah argued. "That's what I comprehended. And going down there could put me in serious danger. But you two being angels and all can do it, right?"
"Come on, let's do it," Nina beckoned, producing an orb of light from her hand and Eddie finally doing the same.
They went deep down until reaching the bottom which took much more time than they anticipated.
"What exactly is the 'Book of Thoth'?" Eddie asked, knowing they were out of earshot.
"I have no idea," Nina responded truthfully.
The room was empty for the most part. Only dusty, but at the end of the room was a stone podium with an ancient book resting on top of it. Nina and Eddie approached it, their orbs of light casting a glow on the brown cover. Nina grabbed the book but was tossed into a vision before being able to do anything else.
Nina viewed a man dressed in nice clothing and a crown, showing he was high in authority. He carried the same book in his arms: the Book of Thoth. He went down the hallway, constantly checking behind himself to make sure he wasn't being followed. He went through a door and closed it, now alone in his own room.
He opened it up eagerly. While skimming through it, Nina could see a ghostly figure watching him from the corner of the room before it disappeared.
The scene suddenly changed to the same guy running back to his room, the ambience much darker. Once he opened the door, his wife and child were on the bed, their eyes and closed and bodies motionless. He inspected them, coming to the conclusion they were dead. He glanced across the room at where he left the book on the table, tears in his eyes.
Nina snapped out of the vision, realizing she'd fallen to the floor in her vision. Eddie helped her up.
"We can't give this to them," Nina decided.
"Why not? What did you see?"
"Some guy had the book and his family ended up getting killed. Eddie, I think this book is really a curse. But we can't endanger Sarah; I couldn't care less about Rufus, but you know Sarah has to be safe."
"But we can't mess with time too much," Eddie pointed out.
"Maybe we were meant to keep the book from them. Time travel is pretty confusing; we don't know if we're changing time or this was supposed to happen."
Eddie swallowed, knowing they'd have to do something. "Ok, we won't give it to them. Open the portal with your locket."
Nina did so. Eddie took the book and tossed it through and after that, Nina closed the portal back up.
"We'll just tell Sarah and Rufus we didn't see the book, and we can get back to the others and explain that book to them," Eddie explained.
Nina nodded in agreement. They both hurried back up the stairs, Sarah and Rufus noticing them empty-handed.
"No book," Nina shook her head.
"It was supposed to be-" Rufus began. "I don't understand..."
"There was a podium down there though," Eddie added. "Nothing on it. Maybe someone took the book. Do you know anyone else after it?"
Neither Rufus nor Sarah knew of anyone.
"Anyway, we have to get going, but we'll see you again," Nina dismissed herself and Eddie. They took off and opened the portal once they were in the clear.
They landed back in Nina's apartment where the book was open on the table, and the others were there, waiting for them to return.

A new day, a new chapter! Hope you enjoyed! What do you think the Book of Thoth is? (By the way, it's an actual book in Egyptian mythology, so if you want a surprise, refrain from looking it up!)
Why might it be a curse?
