"Oh my god, your gonna love your gift!!" I told Harry during lunch.
"No your gonna like yours more." He smiled shaking his head.

"Then let the competition begin." I answered shaking his hand.

Christmas was two days away and it was the last day of school until the winter break.

After harry left and then I saw jace at lunch with a trey full of food.
I called him over and he kissed me while sitting down.
Good thing Harry left.

"So Christmas is two days away...." I said.
"Yeah, about that.... Im going over to my dads place in Washington for Christmas." He said sadly.
"Oh" is all I said.

I felt really sad now because I was really looking forward to spending Christmas with jace but I guess not.

"But if anything I'll give you your gift before I leave." He told me.

"Ok"

The bell rang and we headed to class with barely anything to say.
"Bye maya."
"Bye jace."
Then he kissed me me on the cheek and left to class.

The rest of the day was bullshit.

Sarah and I walked home talking about what we will do for Christmas.

"So your spending Christmas with jace right?" she asked.
"No" I said sadly. "He has to visit his dad in Washington. But it's fine."

"Are you serious maya?"
"He leaves you at Christmas and you still love him even though you know that this relationship is not even going to work out for you and all you say is "its fine"?? If you listened to yourself, you will see how gullible you sound. It will just blow up in your face and guess who your gonna come crying to when your sorrowful!!! MEE!!" She yelled.

I felt tears sting my cheeks.
Maybe she was right..

"Is this what you think.." I nearly whispered.
I then turned around and left her in the middle of the sidewalk.

"Maya... I didn't mean...."

I felt so broken.

I got home, threw my bag on the floor, went to my room, sat on the floor and burst into tears. I can't believe my best friend from the fifth grade would say such harsh words to me about my relationship. I love jace and nobody will break us apart until I decide. He does not mean it by leaving, he's just going to meet his dad that he hasn't seen in a long time.

The next morning was Christmas Eve and this was the second time I woke up with bubbly eyes.

After i woke up, I went straight to the couch in the living room.
"Honey, aren't you gonna eat your breakfast?" My mom asked holding a cup of coffee.
I wasn't in the mood for food or Christmas cheer. That was what my mom had but it wasn't for me.

Jace came to my house later that day and I knew he was leaving today.

"Hey babe" jace said kissing me at the door.
I didn't know what I was feeling right now. :/
"So your Christmas gift.." He said, pausing to take out a box from his pocket.

Then he pulled out a really pretty bracelet.

"Oh my god jace!! It's Gorgeous!!" I said.
"I knew you would love it." he smiled kissing me.
Then I took the gift card and gave it to him.
"Sorry, my gift is wack, mine wasn't well thought out like yours" I said feeling embarrassed.
"Are you kidding me, who doesn't wasn't a gift card to eat food?" He said laughing.

"Come on I'll take you out to the mall."
I knew Sarah might be there so I hesitated but he kept begging me and I finally said yes.
