I tried looking for places that said help wanted but I couldn't find any so I'm probably just gonna have to talk to the boss.
I tried the frozen yogurt place, no. Places in the mall, no. Gift shops, no. McDonald's, no.
I'm never gonna find a job.
I finally gave up like an hour and a half later and I just went home.
This is useless.
I took out the box of donuts I bought earlier and ate two of them.
It was about seven o'clock and my parents finally got home as I watched them come in through the driveway and by the look on there faces, they did not seem very happy. As they entered, I spoke first.
"Where were you guys?" I said quickly.
"You guys were supposed to be here hours ago!!" I added kinda feeling like a parent for a second.
"Honey, I think your mom should get some rest." My dad said sending mom upstairs.
"Wait what happened?" I asked feeling concerned.
"Maya..." Dad said sighing.
"What? Tell me dad." I said.
"Maya... Your mom has prosthetic cancer."
"WHAT!!!" I said feeling hot tears gush down my cheeks.
"It can't be..." I said sobbing.
My dad hugged me tightly. I didn't want him to let go of me cause if he did, I would faint.
"But how long??" I said still crying.
"She had it for about four months, and today, they said it was getting worse." He explained.
"SHE HADD IT FOR MONTHS AND YOU GUYS DIDN'T BOTHER TO TELL MEEE!!!" I shrieked, not being able to lower my voice.
"Come on Maya, lower you voice." He said calmly.
"I can't lose my mother, dad." I said lowering my voice.
"It's gonna be okay." He said.
"No it's not."
"I'm gonna go to bed." Dad said leaving the room.
I went to bed too but I couldn't stop crying, I need a women in my life to teach me ABOUT life and now, that women might not even be here...The next day, I didn't even go to school.
Why bother when you can't even keep your balance for about two minutes.
I was a mess.
Now that my mom had cancer she didn't go to work and now it was only dad keeping us under a roof.
Maybe if I try, I might get lucky and find a job.
I brushed my hair into a pony tail, wore a thin cardigan with black pants and vans and I left to get a job.
before I left I heard mom say something.
"What did you say?" I asked.
"Honey, where are you going?" She said.
"Oh I'm just going out to meet Sarah." I lied. I didn't want her to think it was her fault that I'm getting a job.
I want to do it for my family.
Later that day, I was still looking for a job.
I went into Starbucks to get something to drink and while I was there, I might as well ask for a job.
"Hi, can I speak to the manager?" I asked.
"That me." The young women told me.
Wow, that was embarrassing, it even said it on her shirt.
"I just wanted to ask if you guys are looking for an employee, because if you are, I'm a great hard working person." I asked smiling.
the women looked at me and smiled.
"I'll talk to my boss and you can come here tomorrow afternoon if you'd like."
"Thanks, but I have school." I said.
UGHH
"It's fine, you can come around 3:30."
"That would be great, I really appreciate it." I said.
That was perfect because my school was only about fifteen minutes a walk.I was so excited for tomorrow.
I hope I get it I thought to myself.(Hope you guys liked it)
This took so long to plan out. cx
Byee c: love you 😘
