SEVEN YEARS LATER***

"Mommy, where are we?" Jess asked getting out of the airplane.
"We're in London sweetie, our new home." I told her back.
"I don't like it here." She responded rubbing her eyes from lack of sleep.
I held her close walking to a cab saying nothing more.

After my dad went crazy I couldn't live in California anymore. I didn't know why I decided to move out here but I thought me and Jess needed a change.
Maybe she'll grow up better here without a father.

After the hour long drive to our new apartment, we started to adjust ourselves into the neighborhood and then I put her to sleep.
I looked around but I didn't like how the apartment was created.
But this is all we could afford right now with a budget cut and nobodies help.
I had nobody, only Jess but what could she do, she was only six.
I looked at her sleeping and thought how small, fragile, and curious she was, she was absolutely someone everyone would want for a daughter.
She probably got her personality from her dad, followed my her looks.

Why was I thinking about this.
After those bad memories, tears stained my cheeks like blood on a white shirt.
Not a good look for a "change."
But it was all gonna be behind me now.
Leave all the memories behind us. Start something new.
Maybe Jess will grow up being someone important, someone worth loving like I do now.
She might even get a real family unlike me.
I won't let her make the mistake I did. Never. I would never forgive her.
But my dad did. How could he.
Without him, we would be on the streets right now.
I wouldn't live a day.

Jess woke up at night and climbed onto my bed without me noticing.
I woke up with her foot next to my cheeks.
I laughed light enough that she wouldn't wake up.
She would start school early in the morning the day after tommorow not knowing anybody, but I'm sure she'll make friends. She was the friendliest person in the world. She even made friends with the man sitting behind us in the airplane. She was just the biggest sweetheart.

But after she was born things were just very difficult.
I had two jobs, school, and I needed enough money to pay her babysitter.
Dad didn't do anything. He wasn't useless though.
Once In a while, he would give me deep speeches. But he didn't speak much. He went to work, came home, and then slept.
I was planning on taking online classes but that was just more money than the regular expenses.

Then I heard a knock on the door.
I looked through the little hole and saw a really pretty girl with a floral dress and a little bow on her head. She looked so perky.
"Hello there!!" She said as I opened the door with her British accent.
"Hi." I said trying to act as happy as a I could.
"Who do we have here?" She said.
"Oh my name is maya Peterson." I said nodding my head awkwardly.
"Oh what a BEAUTIFUL name!!" She squeaked.
"My name is Gracie mattiff." She said, taking a bow. I didn't care but I smiled politely.
Maybe she could make a big impact in my life. Since she was happy all the time anyways.
She could turn my frown upside down.
Jokes in my head didn't even seem to lighten me up.
I remember when I was like her. But shall that happen no more.
As I was lost in my thoughts I didn't realize she was playing with Jess. Jess seemed to really like her. Maybe it was because they were very similar. Both so full of life.
They made me feel old but, Gracie was probably only 18 or so.
Still made me feel old.

(Heyy , this chapter seemed to bore me. I don't know why.)
