Chapter 16 - Like, as yum as Beckham's abs?
"Are you sure? Elliot, cooking?" Flo asks as she makes a disbelief face. I nod repeatedly, sitting on the couch comfortably with an ice pack on my right stomach.
"Yea Flo, really, his tart is incredible. Gosh, he should've signed up for Masterchef or what." I chuckle a bit, drinking some water. We're currently re-watching Gossip Girls, it's actually her idea though - to spend her evening with me. She's been easing my loneliness since she's done with school work, watching a lot of shows she's brought along. And that really works, at least I am not bored to death with my books and discomforts.
"Is it really that good? Like, as yum as Beckham's abs?" She gasps, shaking her head. "I can't believe it. Our Elliot is a chef!"
"And an awesome one!" I grin, "You should try the tart but it's already in my stomach, so yeah."
"That's so half-hearted! Mean!" She accuses me. I only grin apologetically and offer her Gabby's chocolate chips cookies. She eats two of them with comical expression that tempts me to laugh.
"But your mom seems so infatuated with him! When I came, we had a couple minutes of hot discussion about him!" She says excitedly, "She thought you were dating with him because gosh, nothing is cuter than giving his girlfriend homemade tar-"
"Oh my gosh Flo, not." I state firmly. Even though she only said that, I believe they talked more. Mom and Flo together? They always discussed weird and surreal things about me. No doubt about that. They just like to talk about my nonexistent love life.
"Wow wait! I'm just going to say that," she raises her hands defensively, "I think you've got your mom's support if you want to date Elliot!"
"What?" I almost drop my glass, shocked to hear her words. Who said I want to date Elliot?! Her words can lead to misunderstanding!
"Just saying," she winks as she slides her iPhone screen. I sigh helplessly, knowing Flo won't really back off. I just don't get why she liked to pair me up with everyone. I get back to the TV and watch as Blair and Chuck kissing.
"Oh, right. Do you know what's wrong with Tyler?"
My head snaps directly to her, "W-what? Why?" Is something wrong with him? I become so worried all of sudden.
"Jake told me he was in chronic bad mood today," she shrugs her shoulder and pout, "And when they teased him about you he made Jake and Will had to run ten extra laps."
Well that kind of makes sense. Our conversation did end up pretty bad yesterday, and we didn't talk or even smile after that. It bugged me the whole night long actually. But what doesn't make sense is, why he was in chronic bad mood because of me? Did our conversation irritate him just like it irritated me?
Did it mean so much to him?
I know I was supposed to apologize, but I didn't know I had a quite big impact on him - and this just tells me that apologizing won't be so easy.
Damn Flo, you were supposed to be here to make me forget all my stupid thinking about him and our conversation.
"Me?" I chuckle to ease the situation, "Um, really?"
"Yeah, you. Are you guys.. Okay? You know, when.. When we found you there.. He was so panicked.. He carried you to his car and he swore the entire time. He cares about you, so much."
