Chapter 35 - Be my Juliet, Chello?
The violin masterclass has been great. I met a lot of important persons who play violin and arrange music for their lives. And in contrary to what I thought, I actually learnt a lot. I thank God for not making me look like idiots who learn nothing. This is a really perfect opportunity and I can't waste it.
This whole week has been full of violin, black-and-white pieces with a lot of colorful scribbling notes on it. I think I slept on the music room last night. Hal turned me to a more Vivaldi person, he started to tell me to study Vivaldi's pieces. Tyler seems to be really fond of it, telling me to pass his thank-you to Hal for stopping me to play Tchaikovsky. Although I'm really sure he's secretly sad because he can't get to hear my waltzes. I know.
"Do you think James will like the beanie I bought yesterday?" Fiona asks as we stroll into the cafeteria. My eyes are nothing but flickering lights that has 5 watts remaining.
"He will, really. He said he needed one. And I'm pretty sure he hadn't bought any," I reply. Yesterday I went shopping with Fiona and Flo for Christmas presents. I am Jake's secret santa this year, I wanted to buy him a sweater, but I didn't find the one that suits him yesterday.
I wonder who's my secret santa. Fiona's the one who arranged this. And she doesn't want to tell me even a thing.
Flo takes a sip on my coffee and makes a face. She's more a tea person than a coffee one. I am, too, but I can't risk falling asleep in classes. "I don't know what to give. I mean Will. . . He likes. . ."
"Porn magazines?" Fiona says, and I almost choke in my coffee but thank Heavens I don't.
It's our jokes about Will whenever his name shows up in our conversation. We once caught him reading one, and immediately hid it on his brother's drawer. He kept claiming it was his little brother's magazine and not his, because he's too grown up and too classy to read magazines like that. The funniest thing is that his attempt to lie causes his brother to cry.
Ha, he was just being scared if we told Kayla about this.
Flo laughs for few seconds and immediately gets her facial expression straight in instant, "Fi, this is Christmas. Nothing dirty."
"No tears on Will's brother too," Fiona grins, causing her to laugh again.
We all sit on our usual table. The boys have already eaten their lunch. Kayla's sitting next to William, looking awkward and confused. "Kay!" I greet her, actually not so surprised by her sitting on the table with us. She grins so widely, greeting back to me. I introduce Fiona and Flo to her. The boys are all weirdly quiet, even murmuring in low voices. I wonder if they're okay.
Will, though. . . He's keeping the others in control, I guess.
"Why are you guys really quiet? Jake?" Flo tugs his sleeves. Jake's trance of smile is there, and he looks in pain to conceal it. Actually, Elliot too. They might be quiet but they can't hide their laughter any longer.
Elliot bursts out laughing just now, and I have this moment. I thought so. A few seconds later they all follow, even Tyler's laughter booms in the almost empty cafeteria. "See?" Will must have mentally slapped his forehead. I can see that happening. "I told you my friends are all idiots."
"Y-you forbade us to interrogate Fisher!"
"We wanted to spill Will's secret, trust me. But he is-"
"Which was stupid, you're our biggest idiot anyway," Kyle mutters.
Will shakes his head in amusement. "I know you love me, but I have Kayla now, I don't think we can continue whatever we had."
