Do you know how there are moments when the world moves so slowly you can feel your bones shifting, your mind tumbling? When you think that no matter what happens to you for the rest of your life, you will remember every last detail of that one minute forever?

Chapter 37 - I told you I'm here for your light and darkness.

The fondue night is awesome. We end up watching tons of movies on the entertainment room while dipping some goodies on the velvety liquid. Elliot has a skype with James, we all tease him with Elliot's magnificent fondue.

The dinner was pleasant too, I had a bowl of french onion soup. Elliot and I cooked that, and I found out that Tyler's favorite food aside from red velvet is the french onion soup with cheese. Ironically, despite his coldness toward Elliot, Elliot's soup was his very favorite. That was what Elliot told me, though. He said Tyler does not realize that he knows.

Well, maybe I need to learn this soup.

Or not.

So we eat the fondue while watching a horror movie, The Lazarus Effect. I'm not a fan of horror movies, but Fiona drags me shamelessly. I can't afford yelling or gasping shocked. No no no, not again.

"Can't someone change the movie? Please, I can't be the only one right?" I ask, ready to just ignore the movie and read. But Tyler's sound system is so loud and the chilling sound booms menacingly on the room.

God, we're gonna die.

"No, not even. We're all in this together," Jake diplomatically says, in which I only reply by scoffing. Let's see who's the chicken in this matter. The last time we went for horror movie, he held Flo's hand so tight that his nails left marks.

I know he's going to be scared.

And true to my words: fifteen minutes through the movie, he wraps his arm on Flo so tight that she might get crushed.

Fiona holds my hands so tightly, constantly cursing whenever something gets so terrifying.

Everyone seems to forget the food, but I don't. And neither does Will. He puts his arm on Kayla's shoulder, and on his free hand, he keeps eating the brownies. He looks bored, in contrast to Kayla who's tempted to bury her face on Will's chest.

Tyler and Elliot seem blank, too. I can tell they're not even frightened.

Kyle and Cathy are both scared, though they keep talking to each other throughout the movie. I don't mean to eavesdrop, but Kyle seems like flirting to Cathy, in his own soft and subtle way.

And Cathy looks blushing. I really didn't see this coming.

We are going to sleep together on the entertainment room. Everyone is scared because of the movie and they opt to sleep together. I get the task of delivering the pillows and blankets from Tyler's guest rooms to the room with Tyler and Jake. Thank God Jake keeps talking with Tyler, keeping him occupied.

And so, we sleep at the entertainment room.

I wonder if they ever had a childhood sleepover with opposite gender. I never do that until now. It feels young at heart. It is one of the normal things children do. It is one of the normal things that I didn't get to do.

Well, it's never too late to experience those kind of things, isn't it?

"Are you guys arguing again?"
