Shohei has arrived at his place, the house can be compared to Nakahara's mansion. His family wealth can be seen with the traditional Japanese house like those from the old era. It has a garden and fish pond where koi fishes are swimming freely, the place is quiet and only the sound of the shishi odoshi (Japanese devices made to frighten away animals which pose a threat to agriculture. It's made from bamboo) can be heard.
The light-haired young male was greeted by their maid, she takes his bag and prepared a beverage for his master.
"Where is she?" – Shohei asked.
"She's at her office" – answered the maid as she puts down the refreshment she prepared.
He quickly stood up without touching the drink in front of him and went to the room on the second floor, the room has tatami mats and has traditional Japanese sliding doors.
"It's me, can I come in?" – asked the young man.
A voice of a woman from inside said "Enter"
He slides the door open and there he saw a woman by the window, she has long dark hair and has exceptionally similar facial features to Shohei but is feminine.
"What brings you here? It's rare that you come to my office and see me" – she said.
"Don't play dumb" – Shohei retorted "She went to our school this morning"
"So you've already met the only daughter of the Sendo family"
"What are you playing here mother?"
The woman turns around to look at his son "I secured your future, she is the daughter of one of the wealthiest family"
"You're not the one who will decide who I will be marrying and what I will be in the future"
"Didn't you want to defeat your childhood friend, that young son of Nakahara?"
Shohei pause after that remark from his mother.
"Isn't that the only reason why you befriended him? Because you wanted the attention that he's getting? Didn't you want to be close to his family because of their name? Didn't you say before that you wanted to make sure that he will not be above you?" – she said as she walks around the tatami room "By marrying the daughter of Sendo, it will merge our family" – she added.
Shohei remains silent as the memory from when he first met Keisuke and Saki flashes back. He wanted to protest, he wanted to say she was wrong, and he wanted to prove to her that it's not the case but he knows inside him that it's true. All he can do is clench his fist while his mother reminds him of the reasons why he befriended the son of Nakahara.
"If I know it better, you owe her family a huge sum of money that's why you decided to use me as payment for it, you're using my friendship with Keisuke as an excuse"
"Is it now? Yes we have debts to pay to Sendo's family but you also want to rise above that so-called friend Keisuke Nakahara"
"Shut up!" – Shohei shouted "Keisuke... Keisuke is my friend!" – he said as he walks out of the room.
