Luigi just waited, frozen in time for a moment. He tried. His body physically wouldn't let him move. He was too afraid to even breathe. He just stood, staring down at the former jester who has caused him so much pain, who had nearly taken away everything he ever loved, who had tried to take so much, and who had betrayed everyone.
Dimentio didn't seem to be angry, however. He lacked the terrified emotion Luigi was expressing. He actually lacked any emotion at all. He just let out a defeated sigh and curled up again.
"Go ahead," He whispered.
Uhh, what did he just say, Luigi thought to himself. Okay, now he was feeling slightly less terrified and more confused.
"W...what?" Luigi asked.
Then, his body finally let him move. He suddenly jerked up and grabbed the wooden rocking chair which was seated not far from the fireplace and held it out in front of himself with two shaking hands. "Y-y-you! I thought you were dead! Everyone thought you were dead!" He exclaimed.
"That was the point," Dimentio breathed with a bored, empty tone.
"W-what are you planning on doing?!" Luigi demanded, his voice shaking and his arms trembling, making the chair he was holding out in front of himself shake. "A-answer me! Are you here to spy on me and... and use me for one of your sick plans to end the world?!"
Dimentio hardly reacted to the harsh accusation, which was unexpected. Luigi thought that he'd at least get mad. But the jester remained completely calm, which in itself was scary. "Now, this may shock you, but the reason I'm here has nothing to do with you," Dimentio admitted, still appearing weak and frail on the floor.
Luigi could probably kill him fairly easily if he had wished. But of course, he knew he'd never do that, and the fact that the very thought even crossed his mind, though very brief, disgusted him.
Death is a permanent solution to temporary problems. There's always another way to solve things.
"Then WHY are you here?!" Luigi demanded, taking a few steps back while still holding tightly onto the chair as if it would protect him. Although he knew it wouldn't. Dimentio was powerful, so if he wanted to hurt Luigi, he'd be able to do so easily, and that chair would have little to no effect in protecting him. However, for some strange reason, holding onto it still gave Luigi a false sense of safety.
"You want to know why I'm here?!" Dimentio asked with a slightly angrier tone. That was the most emotion Luigi had heard him use in saying something since he arrived here, which was still very minimal.
"Yes. That's w-why I asked." Luigi shakily replied, although he knew asking was pointless. Why would Dimentio answer anything he asked of him? Answering Luigi's questions would benefit him in no way, and if it didn't benefit him, he wouldn't waste effort on it. So Luigi asking was practically pointless-
"I'm here because I have nothing else to do. The Chaos Heart is gone. The Prophecy was undone, All my plans which I spend years perfecting, Au revoir." Dimentio stated, surprising Luigi.
Wow. He didn't expect the jester to actually answer. He pondered why. Why would the jester answer in a way that made him appear so weak? Perhaps it was some sort of strategy. Perhaps he was trying to trick the man in green.
"Well, that doesn't explain why you're here. Specifically." Luigi added, slightly more uneasy, unsure what games Dimentio was playing at.
"No, I suppose it doesn't." Dimentio emptily breathed. "I wasn't aware this was your home dimension. I was merely hiding, since obviously once I am spotted, people will not hesitate to send me down to the Underwhere where I belong." Dimentio explained with an almost defeated quality to his voice. "And now I've been found. So go ahead."
