"Wait wait wait, so Mario doesn't want you leaving? Like, at all?" Daisy asked Luigi the next morning, sitting in his room across from him. Mario and Peach were in the living room probably planning what festive activity they'd be doing that day.

"Yeah. He thinks I'm not being careful enough. Because of Dimentio being out there and everything!" Luigi exclaimed, falling back onto his bed and throwing his hands up in the air in frustration. "He's going all 'protective older brother mode,' on me!"

"Well, did you tell him about Dio?" Daisy questioned.

"No!" Luigi snapped, immediately sitting up and pointing at her. "A-and I'm not gonna."

"Why not? He's not gonna let you go out and see him if you don't tell him." Daisy pointed out. "I mean, I understand if you don't wanna share this stuff, but he's your brother."

"Because... I have a feeling Mario won't really accept Dio." Luigi sighed.

Not a lie.

"Why not? Because he's a guy?" Daisy questioned.

"No. Mario doesn't care about that," Luigi replied. "Well, at least I think he doesn't care. It's just... complicated."

"Alright. Well, you don't have to tell him if you don't want to, but you gotta find a way to see Dio without letting Mario know you're gone." Daisy stated, leaning against the wall and crossing her arms when she suddenly snapped up. "HEY! Maybe you can leave after Mario falls asleep!"

"Then when will I sleep?" Luigi asked. "I mean, I can't just never sleep."

"Sleep at Dio's! Then come back early the next morning!" Daisy squealed. "It's the perfect plan!!! I don't know why you weren't smart enough to think of it earlier. "

Luigi immediately shook his head as if the idea terrified him. "Sleep there? No, no, no. I-I don't wanna overstay my welcome-"

"You want to see him, don't you?" Daisy interrupted.

"Well, of course," Luigi admitted. There was no point in hiding it. He knew he wanted to go back. In fact, it's been the only thing on his mind all night. Ever since Mario spoke to him he's thought of nothing else other than trying to come up with a way to get to Dimentio without Mario noticing. "But Mario-"

"Then go. Tonight. I'll try to keep Mario busy all day so he's real tired by the time night comes so he'll turn in early. I can challenge him to a bunch of contests! You know that he can't resist trying to win at everything. Then, you can go see your boyfriend!" Daisy chimed, walking over and sitting down next to Luigi, smirking. "It's all a part of my perfect plan!"

"He's not my-"

"Yeah, Yeah, he's not your boyfriend yet, blah blah blah," Daisy laughed.

"Yet?!" Luigi exclaimed. "H-He's not- It's not- I- it's not like that-"

"Never say never," Daisy chimed, grabbing his shoulder. "That's what I always say!"

"I've literally never heard you say that," Luigi mumbled, holding in a light laugh as Daisy rolled her eyes.

Luigi was sitting by the living room window by the time night came. The sky was incredibly clear and the stars seemed extra bright. They were extra sparkly. And now the moon was completely full. By that time tomorrow, the moon would stop waxing and begin waning. For some reason, Luigi was extra nervous about going tonight. Perhaps it was because Mario didn't want him going out. Or perhaps it was because he didn't know what exactly he'd be showing Dimentio today. He'd like to go sledding someday, but that was a high thrill activity and he didn't know if sledding in the dark was exactly safe. Plus there weren't really any hills out in the woods. The best sledding hill was just outside of town near Luigi's house, and he couldn't take Dimentio there without him risking getting caught. As more time went on, Luigi would see more and more toad guards out looking for the jester. It was pretty worrying. He also noticed that as more time passed Mario seemed to only get more and more worried, which led to Luigi getting more and more worried, only for the opposite reasons.
