Alternative ending- Yue doesn't survive(from chapter 13)

Kyojuro sat by Yue as she laid lifelessly on the bed. Shinobu told him that she wouldn't make it much longer, her injuries are worse then she expected. His father and brother are already on their way to the estate, Giyuu has been called back from his mission to see his cousin one last time.

"Why did you do it Yue, please don't leave me" Kyojuro whispered as more tears fell from his cheeks. He could feel her heart rate slowing down and he could see her chest wasn't rising at a normal breathing rate. She was on the verge of death, and now he has to find a way to deal with her death.

"Onii-Chan" Senjuro said as him and Shinjuro entered the room silently.

"Senjuro, go find Kocho-San" Shinjuro said letting his younger son leave the room so he could talk to his oldest in private.

"Kyojuro, what happened?" Shinjuro asked kneeling by his son watching the tears roll of his face.

"It should've been me. I died, and she saved me. I should be the one laying here, not her... not her" Kyojuro mumbled putting his head on the bed, he felt Shinjuro place his hand on his back rubbing it slightly which surprised Kyojuro that his father was showing his...fatherly affection.

"She loves you Kyojuro. She gave up her life so you could live. She knew the consequences and she knows you're strong enough to not let the darkness consume you if or when she passes away. She won't be gone from your heart" Shinjuro softly said to his oldest son. Kyojuro sniffled and rubbed his nose as he looked at his father.

"She is my everything father, I can't just let this go easily"

"I never said you had to, loosing people is part of the journey of life, but you can't let that stop you.. Kyojuro, don't be like me. Don't get into my bad habits, you're a smart boy.. thrive in your life knowing that Yue is looking down at you" Shinjuro said to his son. Shinjuro wasn't the type of person to give speech's like this but seeing his son in pain breaks his heart.

A soft knock was heard at the door and Giyuu walked in. The first thing Giyuu's eyes landed on was his cousins pale body.

"Tomioka-San" Kyojuro whispered standing up and going over to the Water Pillar.

"What did she do?" Giyuu said his eyes never leaving his cousins body.

"She... she gave up her life for me" Kyojuro said looking down.

"Kyojuro, let us go see if Senjuro found Kocho-San and let Tomioka-San be with his cousin" Shinjuro said placing a hand on his son shoulder, escorting him out of the room. Giyuu approached the girl, he sat next to her and grabbed her hand and his eyes softened at how cold her body temperature was.

"You're a fool" he whispered.

"Yue.. I don't say it a lot but, I love you. You're my family, how could I not love you. And I know you're leaving this world and I can't wait to see you again in the after life. Make sure you tell Oba-Chan(aunt) and Oji-Chan(uncle) that I said hello and that I miss them.. I'll miss you too" Giyuu talked hoping Yue heard him.(FYI: his uncle and aunt are her parents since their cousins) A single tear fell off of Giyuu cheek as he placed his fingers on her wrist and didn't feel a heartbeat nor did he see her chest rise...

she was gone.

He got up and opened the door, Kyojuro was leaning against the wall, his father a couple feet away talking to the Insect Pillar.

"Is she gone?" Kyojuro asked looking up, Giyuu looked at Kyojuro's reddish eyes and nodded his head slightly watching as the water pooled inside of his eyes before overflowing over his face.

"Why couldn't I save her?" Kyojuro said angering himself.

"Don't blame yourself Rengoku-San" Giyuu replied and Kyojuro gave out a fake laugh.

"Tomioka-San... all of this, could've been prevented if I did my job and protected her! How can I be a Hashira if I can't even protect the people I love?" He spat out. Giyuu was slightly surprised, he was used to Kyojuro hyperactive personality but seeing him like this... was different.

"Enough Kyojuro" Shinjuro said approaching his son and putting his hand on his son shoulder

"You need to rest, the funeral will be held tomorrow" Shinjuro added

"No, im not going to rest" Kyojuro said coldly pushing off his fathers hand.

"Kyojuro" Shinjuro voice boomed causing everyone but Kyojuro to slightly jump at Shinjuro's sudden outburst.

"Enough!.. go rest now. Don't make a fool of yourself, don't do that to Yue" Shinjuro added his voice raising slightly. Kyojuro sighed and mumbled something under his breath as he walked into the already prepared room and slammed the door shut. Shinjuro sighed softly and turned to Shinobu.

"I'm sorry for raising my voice in your residence Kocho-San" Shinjuro apologized and she flashed him a friendly smile.

"Don't worry about it Rengoku-Sama. Your son is going through a lot, he must feel angry and sad" Shinobu responded as Kakushi's walked into Yue room to prepare her body for the funeral.
~~~~~~
Everyone attended the funeral. All of the Hashira's, Oyakata-Sama and his family, the whole demon slayer corps attended as well. The funeral was beautiful, under the Wisteria trees as those were Yue favorite trees. The funeral was peaceful and beautiful as all of the Hashira spoke and gave their favorite moments with Yue.
"You all know I call her Pretty Girl, well that all started when she was rescued by my father and brought back to my house. She was shy but opened up to me.. I've been with her since we were kids and knowing that she gave me her life so I could live shows how much she loves me.. if only she were here so i could tell her how much, I love her" Kyojuro spoke softly, his eyes were dry as he cried until he couldn't cry anymore.
~~~~~~
The funeral was over and they buried Yue in the cemetery were all fallen Demon Slayers go. Her grave was near the river, under her favorite tree. Kyojuro sat in front of her grave, the freshly put flowers around it and even a small Koi Fish statue Mitsuri made as she knew how much Yue loved Koi fish. This night ironically was a full moon. So Kyojuro sat there basically all night, the moon illuminating him and her gravestone.

"It's been only a couple of days and I can't get you out of my head Pretty girl. If only you could come back to me because I can't do this without you by my side"

Shinjuro ended up finding Kyojuro asleep by her grave early in the morning. He sighed softly and walked over to his son.

"Come on Kyojuro, let's get you inside" Shinjuro woke up his son pulling him up and walking him back to the estate.

"Do you think... Yue met mother in the afterlife?" Kyojuro asked and his father smiled softly at the question.

"I bet she did and I know Ruka will love her"
