Story: Kyojuro lays under the moon with Yue.
Yue finished her daily chores while Kyojuro was out on a mission. She hasn't been given many missions now that the two got married and she thinks it has to do with Kyojuro requesting to Master to not send her on many missions. It was boring, she got a mission barely once every two weeks while he got a mission every other day. It could've been because he's a Hashira and more powerful demons have shown up that regular demon slayers might not be able to handle but still, she used to get many missions and now she doesn't.
It was around 11pm and Kyojuro has yet to return, Yue didn't know when he'll be coming back or.. if he'll be coming back. So she decided to wait. She grabbed two small blankets and sat outside on the porch. In the middle of the porch(where she sat) she had one blanket around her and one folded to the side for Kyojuro if he returns tonight. Her legs were folded under her to the side as she re did her hair and placed it in a messy high ponytail with baby hairs falling out and tickling her skin. She looked up at the full moon that was present, ironically it was the super moon, meaning the moon was slightly bigger and brighter, she could see every curve and crater on the planet as the North Star and the other smaller stars surrounded its beauty. She leaned against her right arm smiling softly at the moon.
FYI- technically the moon is a satellite object as it doesn't have the gravitational pull to be planet, so in reality it's not a planet but it's also not a star.. I just said planet cause I'm not gonna try to confuse you all by saying "she could see every curve and crater on the satellite object"😅
"She's so beautiful" Yue whispered to herself pushing away her hair that was bothering her from falling out of her ponytail.
"Pretty girl? What are you doing outside so late, and you don't even have your blade with you in case a demon showed up!" Kyojuro scolded her as he approached the gates and saw her soft caramel skin being illuminated by the moon.
"Kyojuro" she said gesturing to the three wisteria trees that outlined the front yard of the house, he looked back and glanced at the purple trees. She could see he looked frustrated and she put the pieces together that something happened on the mission so he thought he could find a reason to yell at her to get his anger out.
"Oh yeah... but still you could catch a cold. Get inside now Yue" he demanded grabbing her wrist to pull her up but she didn't move.
"Yue" he called out her name in a threatening tone. He did kindof scare her, it was rare and I mean absolutely RARE for Kyojuro to act up like this meaning something is bothering the hell out of him.
"Sit down with me Kyo. It's the super moon tonight and she looks beautiful" Yue responded softly which made Kyojuro a little more angry that she didn't scold him for the way he's acting.
"I don't want to watch the moon, I want you to get inside" he said and she gasped lightly as he actually roughly pulled her up, her face was inches away from his and she could sense the angry aura he was admitting as he gripped her arms tightly.
"Take your hands off me Kyojuro" she said and swallowed lightly in fear that she'll set him off, Kyojuro blinked a couple times and released the girl after he realized what he did.
"Shit.. I didn't.. I didn't mean to act that way Pretty girl, I'm so sorry" he apologized and she smiled softly.
"Come sit with me and tell me what's bothering you" she replied sitting back in the spot she was at, Kyojuro hesitated before sitting down next to her and ended up laying down, his back was against the hard floor while his head was on her lap, he folded his arms and curled one leg upward so his knee wasn't on the wooden floor, Yue wrapped the other blanket she had over Kyo and she placed her hand in his hair and ran her fingers through the golden locs to calm him down.
"What happened on the mission my love?" She asked softly looking down at Kyojuro and saw he was looking at the moon.
"I couldn't save the people I promised I'll save" he mumbled softly and Yue sighed sadly.
"Oh Kyo... I'm so sorry but somethings just don't go the way you want them to. The best thing to do is pray for their souls"
"You're the best to talk to Pretty girl" he responded taking his eyes off the moon and looked at Yue.
"Thank you Kyo." Yue replied.
"But, what happened today is what worries me.. what if one time, you go on a mission and get hurt or killed. I won't be there to save you. Which is why I talked to Master and for now on, if you have a mission, I'll attend with you" Kyojuro said reaching up and gently brushing his fingers down her jaw line.
"Wouldn't I be a distraction to you Kyo.. you'll end up worrying about me then the ones we have to save" Yue responded and Kyojuro clicked his tongue.
"Do you think that low of me pretty girl? You're right, I'll worry about you but at the same time I know what you're capable of, I know you can handle your own fight, we'll complete the mission together" he responded and Yue felt guilty for thinking that way of Kyojuro.
"I'm sorry for thinking that Kyo" she said softly.
"Don't be sorry Snowflake.. you're my wife, it's my job to worry about you"
"Now let's get inside before we both catch a cold" Kyojuro added standing up folding the blanket over his arm as he outstretched his hand to help her up but she didn't move a muscle
"But Kyo... the moon" she whined
"You and this moon... why don't you just go marry the moon then"
