You woke up to a pleasant aroma coming from outside your tent. You peaked outside to see Popee tossing vegetables into a cauldron of soup over a campfire. Once he heard your footsteps approaching him, he turned around and waved at you.

"Oh good," he smiled. "You're awake. Soup will be ready in just a few."

"It smells delicious!" you praised. "I didn't know you could cook."

Popee relished the praise and a smug grin began to form on his face. "I can do lotsa things! There are things that even Papi can't best me at!"

Once it was ready, you and Popee helped yourselves to a bowl of soup and feasted beneath the stars.

"You got everything you need for tomorrow's performance?" you asked once you reached the bottom of your bowl.

"Almost," said Popee, helping himself to a second bowl. "I just need to practice. Too bad Kedamono is still dead." He then turned to you and gave you a frightening smirk. "You enjoyed the soup, right?"

"Yes," you answered carefully. "It was very tasty."

"Then to thank me for the free meal," he approached you with an almost evil look in his eye. "You wouldn't mind taking Kedamono's place as my assistant, right?"

It was a long, painful night before the sun rose again. You and Popee have been looking forward to Papi's visit (for very different reasons). You threw on your best outfit and tidied up your hair before exiting your tent that morning. You saw that Kedamono was alive and well again, as Popee was using him for target practice.

You were the lone audience member until Papi came riding in on Paola (according to a Wiki article, that is the official name of the elephant car).

Popee smiled and waved as his dad came in. "Papi! You're just in time for the performance!" Popee pulled out a gun and shot Papi in the chest.

Popee laughed hysterically before he took another glimpse at the corpse. His smile dropped as he realized in horror that the corpse belonged to Kedamono. Papi must have used his body-switching trick!

"Bastard!" cried Popee. "He just came back to life, too!"

Papi smiled and posed dramatically. "You are going to have to do a lot better than that if you want to pull those kinds of tricks on me!"

You applauded at Papi's trick. "That was amazing! How did you do it?"

Papi turned and winked at you, nearly making you melt, "A performer never reveals his secrets!"

Popee scowled before rushing to Kedamono's corpse.

"By the way, y/n," Papi said as he approached you. "I have brought a gift for you!"

"For me?" your eyes widen with surprise and curiosity. "What for?"

"Consider it a thank you gift for watching over my son!" Papi stabbed himself in the chest and carved himself open. He pulled out a heart-shaped box from his chest. He then proceeded to open the box to reveal a bouquet of flowers. You applauded once more at the performance.

"Thank you so much, Papi!" You retrieved the flowers and sniffed them. Despite having been stored inside a grown man's bloody chest for god knows how long, they smelled lovely.

Papi chuckled as he watched his son drag Kedamono's body away. "How cute! He looks just like me when I was his age." He turned back towards you. "Since he and Kedamono are going to be busy for a while, is there anything you would like to do?"

You shook away thoughts of what you really wanted to do before replying: "I'm a little hungry. Maybe we could grab something to eat?" You wondered if it sounded too much like you were asking him on a date.

"I know just the place!" Papi hopped back on Paola. "Come on, y/n! Let's go!"

You tried your best to suppress your blush as you climbed onto the car/elephant. You were so close to Papi, the man of your dreams. You knew very well that this outing will bring the two of you that much closer.
