I am mentally screaming. Bear just called me princess! I knew it! He is a Daddy. Lillie and I are just staring at the text message. I already told Bear goodnight, but how am I supposed to sleep after that?

"Lil, do you honestly think he'd be good for me? I know we barely know him, but just based off your gut feeling. I want complete honesty," I say, knowing she's not going to give me the answer I want.

"That's up for you to decide, Yrsa. He's a nice guy and I think he'd treat you right."

"But?"

"But, there's things he'll do with you that other people won't see. I can't decide if those things will be good or bad. I can't think for you."

"Ugh, I know that. I just don't want to fall head over heels and get my heart broken again."

"I know, Yrsa. I'm sure it'll work out, and if it doesn't, heartbreak isn't forever."

"I hope it works. He's making me feel things I've never felt for anybody else. He already makes me so incredibly happy. I just don't want to get my hopes up."

"If you don't believe in it, then it won't work. You have to give it a chance."

Something clicked in my brain. Lil is right. I can't get down in the dumps about the possibility of it not working out if I haven't even tried. It's easier said than done, but I have to go for it.

"You're right, Lil. Thank you."

"No problem. Now, let's get some sleep."

I turn off the lamp next to the bed and plug my phone in. I want to text Bear and ask if he's still awake. I want to send him a good morning text to wake up to. I want to be with him. Hopefully he won't be too embarrassed and I'll be able to see him tomorrow.

"Goodnight, Lil."

"Goodnight, Yrsa."

-------------------------------------------------------

I wake up, bright and early. I take a shower while Lil sleeps in. I brush my teeth and rinse out my mouth. I brush out my hair and put the same braid in as yesterday. I added a few tinier ones throughout my hair. I put my hair half up and half down. It looks perfect. I wake up Lil so she can get ready, and help me pick out an outfit.

"Should I do another dress today," I ask Lil, holding up some options.

"Go with those black ripped jeans. We both know you're not much of a dress girl."

"You're right. What shirt?"

"Hm, do you still have that cute green top I gave you?"

"This the one," I ask, pulling a shirt out of my closet.

"Yes, that one! I like that combo of colors on you."

"Thanks for helping me, Lil."

"Anytime. Now, I'm gonna get ready."

Lil takes a shower as I get dressed. The outfit looks perfect. Lil gets out of the shower. I go back into the bathroom while she gets changed. I do my simple makeup routine, just like yesterdays, and my look is complete.

I come back out from the bathroom and Lil is already ready. She smiles at me and nods in approval of her outfit choice for me. I smile and giggle at her. I wonder how Bear is going to feel about my outfit.

"You ready to go downstairs, Lil?"

"Yeah, I'm ready."

We go downstairs and smell the breakfast my mom is cooking. She's making eggs and chicken sausage. I can't have red meat, so she does what she can.

"Breakfast smells yummy, mom."

"Thank you, sweetie. Y'all come grab some plates. It's almost done."

"Yes! I'm starving," Lil exclaims, dramatically.

Mom and I giggle. Lil and I grab plates and fill them up with eggs and sausage. We leave plenty for mom, of course. After Lil and I eat breakfast, we put our shoes on.

"Oh mom, I'm going to have lunch with Bear again today."

"Alright, honey. Have fun."

Lil and I leave and head to school. She drives us in her car this time. We arrive at school and go to our lockers. I grab the books I need for class and wait for Bear to show up. All of a sudden, I feel my heart start to race. Tears swell in my eyes. No, no! Not now!

"Hey, you okay? What's going on," Lil asks me.

"I feel like I'm about to have a panic attack."

"Is it Bear? Do you know what caused it?"

I shake my head. Nothing caused it. I was doing fine! What happened? Lil tries to help me to the bathroom, but I'm stuck. I fall to the ground and Lillie sits with me, holding my hand.

"It's going to be okay. You're safe. Just remember to breathe. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere," Lil comforts me.

All I can do is focus on trying not to hyperventilate. I'm spacing out and staring at the floor. I can't feel or hear anything around me. It feels like everybody's gone and I'm alone. I start shaking my hands. I feel like if I don't move something, I'll die.

I feel arms wrap around me. They're not strange or foreign. They feel comforting. Lil? No, it can't be Lil. Her arms aren't as big. Bear? I feel myself being lifted off of the ground.

"Don't worry, baby girl. I got you. Daddy's got you. It's all going to be okay."
