Mom and Bear are cleaning up in the kitchen. Bear insisted on helping. That's one of the many things I like about him. He's so selfless. I can tell, because he has a smile on his face while helping my mother. He's not doing it because he feels like he has to.

Lillie and I are picking out a movie. Mom got piled up at work and had to bring some of it home, but with Lillie's help, she was able to get it all done. I missed having family movie nights. I'm glad Bear is here to share this with us.

Lillie and I picked out Red Notice with The Rock and Ryan Reynolds. I'm so excited to watch this.  It looks hilarious.

Bear and mom get done cleaning in the kitchen. Bear sits down next to me on the couch and mom sits on the recliner. Bear puts his arm around me and pulls me close to him. I like that he does that. I like being close to him. I still haven't taken his hoodie off since this morning.

Lillie presses play on the movie. Not long after, the room is filled with laughing and gasps of shock as the movie progresses. I occasionally get up to make snacks and drinks for everybody.

The movie ends and I yawn really big. Daddy looks at me and can tell I'm sleepy. He helps me off the couch and up the stairs. I get into bed and wait for him to crawl in but he doesn't.

"Daddy, what's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong, princess. I just don't want to overstay my welcome or make Lillie feel uncomfortable. I think I'm gonna go home after I tuck you in."

I pout really big and shake my head. I don't want Daddy to go bye bye.

"No go bye bye, Daddy. Pwease?"

"I'm sorry sweetie, but Daddy has to go home. I'll see you at school tomorrow, though. We'll go on that lunch date. I promise."

I sniffle a bit. I really don't want him to leave, but I'm worried about being too clingy.

"Hey, baby girl. It's okay. It's alright. Daddy's right here. I'm gonna tuck you in and you're gonna cuddle with Mr. Raccoon, okay? You can have my hoodie for as long as you want it. I'll respray it whenever you need me to. It should help you relax when Daddy can't be there, okay?"

"Yes, Sir. Can you hold me for a little bit before you leave? Pwetty pwease?"

"Of course, princess."

Bear gets in bed and I lay on his chest. He holds me close and plays with my hair. I feel my eyes get heavy again. I can't fall asleep now! Not before he leaves! I can't help it. My eyes close and before I know it I'm asleep.

I wake up to the bed shifting and Daddy getting up. I notice Mr. Raccoon in my arms and my phone on the charger. I'm all tucked in and Daddy is about to leave. I reach out and tug on his shirt. He whips around and crouches down to my level.

"Yes, princess," he says to me, softly and sweet.

"Be careful on da way home," I say in my sleepy, little voice.

"I will be, baby. I promise."

He gives me a kiss on the forehead and a hug before he walks out of my room. I notice Lillie isn't in here, but I hear footsteps coming up the stairs. That must be her. I want to apologize to her, but I'm just so tired. I'll apologize in the morning. My eyes close again before Lillie reaches the door.

-------------------------------------------------------

My alarm pulls me away from my peaceful slumber. I don't want to get up. I feel the side of the bed where Bear was before I fell asleep. I turn over and smell the pillow. It still smells like him and so does his hoodie.

I groan as I pull myself away from the bed and walk into the bathroom. I brush my teeth and comb through my hair. I'm thinking of dressing up a little differently today. I section my hair in the middle, leaving out my baby hairs and what little bangs I have, and braid each side. I tie them with pastel pink, glittery hair ties. I do my normal make up look and go to my closet. Lillie wakes up and I turn my attention towards her.

"Good morning, Lil. I'm sorry about last night. I should've asked you about it."

"What are you talking about," she asks groggily as she rubs her eyes.

"About Bear being in the room last night. I didn't mean to shut you out and make you come to bed late."

"That's what you're apologizing for? Yrsa, you shouldn't have to ask me to have somebody over in your room. I knew it was going to happen eventually. Plus, I was working on tons of homework last night. You didn't shut me out. I promise."

"I know it's my room, but you practically live in it too. I still feel like I should've asked you."

"Yrsa, I'm serious, you are fine. I'm comfortable with Bear staying the night in here. We have separate beds and I trust him. I don't see an issue with him spending the night."

"Okay, thank you, Lil. I just really wanted to make sure it was okay with you."

"It is, I promise. You're my best friend and I love you."

"I love you too, Lil."

Lillie smiles and walks into the bathroom to get ready for school. I look at my closet and choose this white dress with pastel pink and lilac flowers on it. I put it on and put Daddy's hoodie back on over it. I put on some pastel pink socks and my lilac vans. I look in the mirror and decide this looks perfect. I hope Daddy thinks it's cute. Lillie comes out of the bathroom and looks at me with a bright smile.

"Oh my gosh, you look adorable! Bear will love it!"

"Oh my gosh, you look adorable! Bear will love it!"

"You really think so," I ask, looking down.

"I know so."

Lillie puts on some black leggings and a blue hoodie. She puts her socks and vans on and throws her hair into a messy bun. I can tell she's exhausted.

"Rough night with homework?"

"I don't even want to think about chemistry right now."

"Yikes, I'm sorry, Lil."

"No biggie. I just gotta make it through."

"Just remember to take breaks and breathe. I don't want you to burn yourself out."

"Thanks, Yrsa. I forgot that last night and it's kicking me in the ass right now."

"What would you do without me," I giggle.

"I don't want to think about that either," she giggles back.

We walk downstairs and Lillie reminds me about my helmet. I run and put my helmet, my book bag, and Lillie's book bag in her car so it'll be ready to go. I come back inside and eat breakfast with Lillie. Mom made oatmeal and she makes the best in the world! She makes the best food ever, if you ask me.

Lillie and I get in the car and we leave for school. I really hope Daddy likes seeing me like this and he won't get weirded out. I'm sure he will, but there's that doubt in the back of my mind.

"Why are you wearing that? You look ridiculous. Just grow up!"

The voice repeats in my mind. I take deep breaths to try and calm myself down. I can feel myself start to shake, but I won't let this happen again. I'm stronger than this. I'm stronger than him.
