Martha had felt anxious and nervous as she waited for Greg and Lauren to pick her up. She had felt a bit uneasy as soon as she'd stepped off the plane from Vegas. Being at home with her mum was fine and comforting as only home can be, but she still felt known. Known for what happened with Lee, known for running away and now known for being back in town and everyone wanting to have a look at her to see what kind of effect America had had on her.

Lee now lived two streets away from her mum with his new girlfriend and Martha was gripped with fear every time she left the house, just in case she might see him or worst bump into him and her.

"Sit down, you're making me nervous watching you pace about at the window." Martha's mum said smiling.

"I feel nervous about Greg. He's still friendly with Lee and I don't think he's my biggest fan, because I allow Lauren to have an opinion!" Martha said, still looking out the window.

"Listen, I know there are a lot of memories here for you and it's hard, because you're still hurting." Martha's mum put her hand on her shoulder to steady her.

"I know, I thought I would be a bit stronger by now." Martha replied looking straight at her mum, looking for an answer that would dissolve all her worries.

"You are strong, look at what you've been trough and where you are now. Don't let some idiot ruin you big day with Brandon..." Martha's mum chuckled.

Martha look at her mum and laughed.

"You always know what to say, mum!" Martha said resting her head on her mum's shoulder.

"It's just guess work really," her mum laughed, pulling Martha round for a hug, "I'm just good at guessing!" She laughed.

Just then Martha's younger brother Martin came in.
"Only you would wear golden welly boots!" He scoffed pointing at Martha's feet.

"I think you mean, 'only you can carry off wearing golden welly boots'." Martha laughed lifting up her foot and showing off the black glittery lightening bolt she had glued on the night before.

"Lightening?" Martin rolled his eyes, "What is it with you and lightening?"

"I don't know, it's just cool, I like it. Anyway, what's with you being up so early?" Martha scoffed back, but she suddenly started to panic when she realised Martin was wearing his football shirt.

"It's an early kick off." He said tugging at his top, "I'm heading to the pub to watch the match shortly, it's gonna be a good one!" He beamed.

"Shit!" Martha exclaimed

"Language!" Martin said in a shocked voice, "You're not in sin city any more you know!" he laughed.

"What's up?" Martha's Mum asked.

"Greg will not be happy if there's a match on and he can't drink, because he's picking us up." Martha said making a face and rolling her eyes. At that moment Greg's car pulled up outside and blared the horn.

"See you later." Martha called as she headed out the door, lifting a bag full of cider bottles as she went.

"Be careful!" Her Mum called back, "And, have a good time!"

The tension in the car was palpable.

"Hi!" Martha said excitedly as she sat in the back seat.

"Hey" Lauren said a little weakly.

"I'm so excited! Let's get the party started!" Martha said a little too excitedly as she opened a bottle of cider and handed it over the front seat and on to Lauren's shoulder.
